Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Just Honored Princess Diana in a Major Way

It wasn’t until recently that the royal family began keeping up with modern times and using social media. It is a great way to see new pictures of them on a regular basis, a well as stay on top of everything that is going on in their lives. Since it has been over two decades since Princess Diana was taken from us so suddenly, she never got a chance to experience what social media was all about.

Even though we weren’t able to follow her on the internet, it certainly did not mean that millions of people around the world didn’t take an extreme interest in everything that Diana said and did. She touched the lives of so many, and her legacy will never be forgotten.

Diana’s two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, are doing all that they can in order to ensure that Diana’s memory stays alive. Even their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle, who never had the honor of knowing Diana in person, pay tribute to her in subtle ways that don’t go unnoticed.

They may choose to wear a piece of jewelry that belonged to the late princess or wear an outfit similar to one of hers. So, how did Prince Harry and Meghan just honor Diana in a major way?

William and Harry were only 15 and 12, respectively when Diana passed away. They were extremely close to their mother, and there is no doubt that her death had a huge impact on their lives. According to Insider, the princes do whatever they can to incorporate Diana’s memory into their personal lives as well as their royal duties.

As we know, William proposed to Kate with Diana’s sapphire engagement ring. Harry also made Diana a part of his and Meghan’s engagement, when he presented his fiancé with a ring that included diamonds that once belonged to his mother. Both princes carry on the extensive charity work that Diana did, and William tells his children stories about the wonderful grandmother that they never knew.

When Diana passed away in 1997, chances are that neither Meghan or Kate ever dreamed that they would one day be married to her sons. William and Harry would have loved for their wives to know their mother, and Harry went so far as to say in him and Meghan’s engagement interview that Meghan and Diana would have been “thick as thieves.”

While it would have been great to see Meghan, Kate, and Diana together, seeing the duchesses honor her is the next best thing. According to Insider Lifestyle, Kate has worn Diana’s Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, which was a wedding present to Diana from Queen Elizabeth, and both Meghan and Kate have worn designs from some of Diana’s favorite fashion labels.
