Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Make Major Announcement in the Coming Weeks
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex surprised us all with some announcements before and now it’s being reported that they are going to share a few more with fans in the coming weeks.
There is still a lot of uncertainty with what the pair’s future will look like going forward so fans will be eager to hear any updates they might have. Here’s more on what those announcements could be and when we’re most likely to hear them.
The Sussexes will release statements in the coming weeks
On March 9, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared with the entire royal family at the Commonwealth Day ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
Rebecca English, who is the royal correspondent for the Daily Mail and covered the event, took to social media and claimed that Meghan and Harry are going to share some news with everyone in a few weeks.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will carry out their last engagement today as senior working royals, appearing with the Royal Family at the Commonwealth Service. I’m told they will make some announcements over the next few weeks, but they have no duties in their diaries,” English tweeted.
What these announcements could be
Of course, the couple’s fans are expecting them to make some kind of major announcement when they are officially done with their royal duties.
Meghan and Harry would like to have things in order regarding their website and many believe the announcement will have to do with their Sussex Royal brand name, which had to be modified. In February, the pair said they would no longer use the word ‘royal’ after Queen Elizabeth II objected.
“While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word ‘Royal’ overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020,” a statement on their website read.
When Meghan and Harry will officially step down from royal life
Although they announced back in January that they would be stepping down as senior royals, a lot needed to be worked out and all parties agreed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would officially be relieved for their duties on March 31. So it’s very likely that their announcement will come on April 1.
It hasn’t been revealed how much time the prince and former actress will be spending in the U.K. after that. Since their initial announcement, Harry and Meghan have been in Canada most of the time at a residence on Vancouver Island.
As for what they’ve been up to there, a source told People that they traded royal life for yoga and nature walks.
“They are enjoying living a quiet life,” the insider said, adding, “They go for long walks, they do yoga, and Meghan cooks. They are real homebodies who love to chill out with Archie and the dogs. They both love to be outside and have been loving it there.”
