It’s no secret that the royal family has money — and lots of it. But when royals get married, they have the added benefit of having a combined net worth with their spouse. Two of our favorite royal couples, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton, both fall into the “insanely rich” category. But which couple comes out on top? Here’s everything we know about the net worth of each royal.

Meghan Markle’s net worth is $5 million

With the fame Meghan Markle found before ever meeting Prince Harry, her career already classified her as successful. She’s most well-known for her work on the show Suits, but she also appeared in movies such as Remember Me (2010) and Horrible Bosses (2011).

On her own, her net worth comes to $5 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. In addition to earning money through acting, she monetized her Instagram account and her lifestyle blog, The Tig — both of which have been deleted due to joining the royal family.

Prince Harry’s net worth is $40 million

Growing up as a royal, Prince Harry was presented with plenty of opportunities to amass a net worth of $40 million. For starters, he earned a significant inheritance from his mother, Princess Diana, and his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

The Sovereign Grant, which aides in funding the royal family’s expenses, has also contributed to his income. And according to Town & Country, he earned $50,000 per year during his time as a British Army captain.

Kate Middleton’s net worth is $10 million

Clearly, Kate Middleton didn’t need to join the royal family in order to be wealthy. Today, she has a net worth of $10 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. She was already well-off before becoming the Duchess of Cambridge, which can be largely be credited to her family’s party planning business, Party Pieces.

Middleton didn’t just inherit riches from her family — she was actually a large part of what made the business so successful. Her mother, Carole Middleton shared on the official Party Pieces website in 2017, “It is still very much a family business today, and over the years all my children have played a huge part in it from modelling for the catalogue to developing new categories for the brand.”

She continued, “James established our personalised cakes, Catherine started the 1st birthday side of the business, and Pippa developed the Party Pieces blog.”

Prince William’s net worth is $40 million

Though Middleton’s net worth is impressive, her husband, Prince William, is worth quite a bit more. He’s racked up a net worth of $40 million through a number of outlets. Like his brother, he inherited a hefty amount from Diana and the Queen Mother.

The Sovereign Grant has also provided significant funds to the Duke of Cambridge. He’s made money for himself, as well, during his time as a helicopter pilot in the RAF Search and Rescue Force. According to Harper’s Bazaar, he earned about $70,000 annually.

William and Middleton are the richer couple

When you look at each person’s individual net worth, William and Middleton’s combined net worth beats out Harry and Markle’s. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a combined net worth of $50 million, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have $45 million. Either way, neither couple is hurting for money, to say the least.
