Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Be Less Stressed Having Royal Baby No. 2 — Here’s Why

Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex are expecting another baby. However, this pregnancy is going to be completely different from when they had Archie Harrison. Back in 2019, the Sussexes were still working royals under the close watch of the crown. Now they’re living life on their own terms. Even if that move created many enemies.

Harry and Meghan made no secret of their issues with the British royals. Eventually, their problems got so extreme that they stepped back from royal duties, then escaped to Canada before settling in Los Angeles on a more permanent basis.

Now the couple is expecting their second and most likely last child together. Here’s why the Duke and Duchess of Sussex can expect less stress this time around.

When royals announce a pregnancy, there’s a proper protocol and order of things. Expectant royals must first inform the queen. Then, strategists craft an official announcement for the new parents.

The couple told the world they were expecting Archie just before embarking on an official tour of Australia in Oct. 2018. The news came via the royal press secretary. Now with this second pregnancy, the couple took things down a notch and waited much longer to tell the world their happy news.

Instead of getting pros involved, Prince Harry and Meghan posted a black and white snapshot on social media. The photo showed the pair lounging in the grass beside a tree. Harry is barefoot and smiling down at his wife, who rests her head in his lap while cradling her baby bump.

There won’t be expectations around the royal baby’s birth

In the months and weeks leading up to Archie’s birth, royal fans went into a frenzy speculating about what would happen. Would Meghan deliver in the same hospital as Princess Diana and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge? Would she pose for the iconic photo on the steps just after birth?

Then, Harry and Meghan announced that they’d be keeping the birth private and followers couldn’t bear the news. They insisted this was an egregious break of royal protocol and totally unacceptable.

Now everything has changed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are living in the United States full time and aren’t expected to follow any royal traditions with the new baby. Meghan will give birth where she wants and will announce the news when she’s ready. The lack of expectations are likely a huge relief for this former senior royal.

Becoming a parent for the first time is life-altering in so many ways. It’s also challenging to have more children, but at least Harry and Meghan have the benefit of experience this time around. The couple is a lot more prepared when it comes to the birth experience, newborn stage, and baby years. Plus, they’re doing it all in a place where they both feel more comfortable.

Many royal fans disagree with Harry and Meghan’s decision to quit their roles as working royals. But no one can deny how much happier they appear now that they’re forging their new lives in LA. This includes the Sussexes seeming a lot more chill about pregnancy the second time around.
