Prince Harry and Prince William Are ‘Back in Touch’ Again After Megxit Drama, Expert Claims

Since Prince Harry and Prince William had been feuding in the past, many royal fans have wondered if the two mended their relationship after Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex exited the royal family or if they parted on bad terms. A royal expert claims that the brothers have been “back in touch” recently, giving fans some hope that they’ll patch things up between them.

Prince Harry revealed the feud rumors were true

In a 2019 interview for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, Prince Harry confirmed that things weren’t good with his brother.

He revealed that there had been tension but there was still love between them. “Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under… inevitably, you know, stuff happens,” Prince Harry explained.

He added, “But, look, we’re brothers. We’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.”

After Prince Harry and Meghan announced their plans to exit the royal family and made arrangements to leave, they made their final appearance at a Commonwealth Day service attended by Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Things appeared tense between the brothers, leading many to worry that they would never be as close as they used to be.

The brothers are ‘back in touch’ again

Now that the dust has settled, royal expert Katie Nicholl tells ET that the brothers are “back in touch.”

“There have been clearly some quite major rifts in that relationship, but things have got better and I know that William and Harry are in touch on the phone,” Nicholl shared. “They have done video calls together, they have done a lot of family birthdays and I think with Prince Charles not being well, that really forced the brothers to pick up the phone and get back in touch.”

Nicholl was referring to Prince Charles’ coronavirus (COVID-19) diagnosis. She shared how it’s been the “right time” for Prince Harry and Prince William to mend their relationship since the drama is behind them.

“I think there is a sense of relief on both sides that this high drama is now a thing of the past,” Nicholl explained. “The Sussexes are free to get on with their new lives [and] the Cambridges can get back to their old lives without all the upset and drama that was clearly a big deal behind the scenes. I think Kate and William miss Harry and Meghan to a degree, but certainly they miss Harry [being] around and part of their lives.”

The royal family is staying connected

Nicholl further shared her speculation that the royal family has been in communication with Prince Harry and Meghan since they left, as Archie’s birthday and the queen’s birthday were recent reasons to celebrate.

“I am quite sure there would have been communication between the Cambridges and the Prince of Wales and I am told Harry picks up the phone regularly to his grandmother, the queen,” she noted. “They had that same call on her birthday. I’m sure there was a Zoom birthday call for Archie, too.”
