Prince Harry Does The Sweetest Thing to Help Baby Archie Sleep
Every baby has a different sleep schedule and pattern. Some babies doze easily, sleeping like the little angel you imagined when you were pregnant. And others… well, they require a little more effort and attention.
When it comes to baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, he seems to be among the latter. But Prince Harry has it under control. A new report says that he’s created a routine that helps his 2-month-old sleep soundly — and it’s pretty freakin’ cute.
Prince Harry sings to baby Archie
According to a July 31 report from Us Weekly, the Duke of Sussex likes to serenade his baby boy with lullabies — even though he doesn’t have very good pipes.
“Harry’s tone-deaf, and he knows it,” a royal insider told the publication. “But that doesn’t stop him from singing Archie to sleep.” Aww!
While it’s great that Prince Harry knows how to calm his son, it’s worth pointing out that baby Archie isn’t super fussy. According to Town and Country, Meghan Markle once said that her son has a “sweet” temperament and that he is “calm.”
The source also noted how hands-on Prince Harry is when it comes to his son.
The insider said the 34-year-old plays “a huge part” in baby Archie’s upbringing, adding, “He’s the kind of dad who doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty.”
That means that Prince Harry “happily takes on diaper duty, burps Archie and cleans his spit-up without complaint.” If he has early-morning plans, he “gets up in the night to tend to his son,” said the source. “Meghan doesn’t even need to ask him — he just does it!”
Prince Harry is sleep-deprived
Shortly after Markle gave birth on May 6, Prince William congratulated his brother on the new addition to their family, saying: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!”
He and Kate Middleton have three children, so it seems like he would know a thing or two about parenthood. And it appears that he was right — Prince Harry hasn’t been getting as much shut-eye as he usually would. He once told reporters that he’d only had about two hours of sleep.
But he wouldn’t have it any other way. In May, he called parenthood the “most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.”
So, will Prince Harry and Markle have more kids?
Yes, the Sussexes plan on expanding their family. But according to the duke, they plan on keeping their family small. In an interview with conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall for the September issue of British Vogue, he said the reason has to do with the environment.
Goodall first detailed the issues surrounding “unlimited economic development on a planet with finite natural resources,” noting the “violence and war and suffering around the world today” and the potential for “more conflicts, people fighting over the last fertile land, the last fresh water.”
Prince Harry followed up by calling the state of things “terrifying.” When Goodall urged him not to have “too many” children due to all that’s going on in the world, he interjected, saying, “Two, maximum!”
When they do have another baby, hopefully, it’ll be as cool and calm as its big brother.
