Prince Harry Reportedly Doesn’t Care to ‘Reach a Truce’ With Family

You’d be hard-pressed to find a family that doesn’t have at least occasional drama. The royals are certainly no exception to this rule, and while they tend to make things look perfect on the outside, the truth is, that behind closed doors, they are pretty much just like everyone else.

For the past few years, Prince Harry has been the subject of countless news stories regarding his relationship with the rest of the family. Ever since he and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, decided to take a step back from their official duties, the tension has been running rampant, and it is known among fans that Harry and his brother weren’t even talking for a while.

Now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living thousands of miles away in LA for quite some time, and Harry only recently returned to England for Prince Philip’s funeral. There was visible tension, and although many people thought this was his chance to reconcile, it turns out that Prince Harry doesn’t care to “reach a truce” with his family.

Tension like never before

Over the years, we have seen so many images of the royals smiling and getting along just fine. When Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge got married, Harry was actually known as the “world’s most famous third wheel,” tagging along and making appearances with the couple on a regular basis.

Many people hoped that when he and Meghan married, the two couples would be inseparable, but as we all know, that’s not exactly the way things went down.

The tension has been building for years, and Harry has recently been pretty vocal at expressing his unhappiness with having grown up in the public eye. In fact, The New York Times reports that he recently said being a part of the monarchy was “a mix between The Truman Show and being in a zoo.”

When the world watched the funeral service live last month for Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, all eyes were on the Duke of Sussex looking for signs of tension, which many say were clearly visible.

A royal family divided

It used to be that just about all the royals lived in London or not too far outside the city. It was originally thought that Harry and Meghan would be residing at Kensington Palace, just next door to Kate and William, but they surprised everyone when they decided instead to move 200 miles away to Windsor.

The couple claimed that they were looking for privacy, and the 200-mile distance didn’t seem all that bad. However, it was quite shocking when they then moved to a different continent altogether, buying a home in Meghan’s hometown of LA, where they have been for over a year.

Suddenly, the royal family was divided, and fans are constantly waiting to see what will happen next.

Most feuds eventually come to an end, especially when a family is as close as the royals once were. Even when Harry and William weren’t on speaking terms, millions of people held out hope that they would put their differences behind them, and carry on the way they used to.

However, according to Best Life, things are going in the opposite direction. Harry is driving an even bigger wedge between himself and his family, and an insider says that he “now sees there is no point in trying to reach a truce.” The duke doesn’t like how he was treated during his recent trip to England, and signs point to him walking away altogether.

The source told Best Life: “The Duke of Sussex now sees there is no point in trying to reach a truce. During his brief stay in England, Harry felt he was badly treated by several family members. He had not realized how much of his differences with his father and brother affected the entire family.”

Due to this, the source adds, “Harry might, for all intents and purposes, just walk away rather than keep trying to make Charles and William see his side of the story.”
