Prince Harry Has Been ‘Americanized’ By Meghan Markle, Report Says

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have said so long to royal life (at least, for now). After stepping down from their senior roles within the royal family, the pair left England and relocated to North America with their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The trio is now living in Markle’s native Los Angeles following a brief stay in Vancouver Island, Canada. Although they have only been in the United States for a short while, a new report says that Prince Harry has already been “Americanized” by his wife.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s move to the United States

Amid rumblings of a royal feud and intense scrutiny from the press, Prince Harry and Markle announced in January that they intended to “step back” from their roles. The couple also said in a statement that they intended to “carve out a new progressive role” within the family and work to become financially independent.

After receiving the OK from Queen Elizabeth, the couple moved to Canada later in January. They lived there for a little more than two months before heading to Los Angeles in March.

“It was always their plan to eventually be based in California since their work-life will be focused in the US,” a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time.

Neither of them has said anything about their move, but plenty of people have offered up their thoughts about it.

Among them is Ladies of London star Julie Montagu — aka Viscountess Hinchingbrooke — who told People on May 12 that she thinks Markle has “Americanized” Prince Harry.

“I love it,” she added to the publication. “I actually thought they were going to stay in Canada, just because I thought it would be more peaceful for them. I thought it was a good transition country—a good compromise.”

As far as how Prince Harry is truly handling things, Montagu said she believes he is happy with the decision he made. “I think there are some people thinking that Harry is going to miss royal duties and the lifestyle, and I mean, he may miss parts of it. But I think that this is what Harry’s always wanted — an escape,” she continued.

In regards to the amount of media attention the pair continues to receive, Montagu added. “I don’t think they want to be in the news. They want their projects and the charitable foundations that they support to be in the news, but they themselves don’t want to be in the news.”

Living in a high-profile place like Los Angeles might not seem like the answer to their problems but as Montagu said: “Anywhere is more private than being a member of the royal family in Britain.”

Where exactly do Prince Harry and Meghan Markle live now?

Page Six reports that the couple is living in an eight-bedroom, 12 bathroom Hollywood mansion owned by Tyler Perry. However, it seems only temporary.

Multiple outlets have reported the couple is shopping for a home of their own. The Sun claimed that the ideal house would have lots of space for their growing family, including Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland. But Prince Harry and Markle have reportedly slowed their search due to the coronavirus outbreak.

With any luck, they will have their own house soon. But in the meantime, they have a great place to stay in and plan their next moves.
