Prince Harry Is Annoyed By the Rumor That Meghan Markle Was Banned From the Royal Jewelry Collection
While most royal fans are keeping their eyes planted on Meghan Markle’s midsection as we anxiously await the birth of the next royal baby, there’s some drama brewing that has nothing to do with Baby Sussex. British tabloid The Sun caused major waves when they reported that Meghan Markle had been banned from wearing certain items in the Royal Collection.
If this all sounds too strange to be true, that’s because it is. The Sun quoted an, “impeccably placed insider” who said Queen Elizabeth “decided that not all items from the Queen’s royal collection will be opened up to Meghan” based on how she conducted herself during the royal wedding.
The insider went on to explain that while the Queen and the Duchess of Sussex got along personally, this decision to ban her from using royal jewelry was simply a matter of “hierarchy.”
So what’s going on? Is the Duchess of Sussex really getting snubbed from royal jewelr? Find out the truth, ahead.
Don’t believe everything you read in the tabloids about Meghan Markle
Most people have figured out by now that tabloids like The Sun aren’t usually kind to Meghan Markle and most items they report are only loosely based in truth. However, this particular rumor is very strange and seems to be completely fabricated.
After the story broke, The Cut reports that another royal insider came forward and said none of these rumors about the royal jewels are true. What’s more, they said royal family members – especially Prince Harry — are upset that the rumor was circulating at all. “There is anger that these claims circulating are simply not true. They [royal family members] are rightly incensed,” the source said.
Need proof that it’s all a bunch of poppycock? The Queen allowed Meghan Markle to wear a borrowed tiara from the Royal Collection during her nuptials with Prince Harry. As the source pointed out, “It is worth noting that the Queen lent Meghan a tiara for the wedding, gave her earrings for her first royal engagement, and had just agreed to partly fund her new household.”
Why are there so many false rumors about Meghan Markle?
As royal rumors go, this one is so weird that it’s almost hard to be annoyed by it. But it’s part of a disturbing trend of trying to create drama in the royal family where none exists. Prince Harry is absolutely not pleased that the tabloids are targeting his wife.
Former royal family press secretary Dick Arbiter said it best: “He [Prince Harry] would be angry that something like this is coming out. You have got to remember too…I mean, you were here for the wedding and you saw how the media were operating. They were putting Meghan and Harry right up on a pedestal. Since the end of summer in the autumn, they have been chipping away at those pedestals and really having a go.”
It’s all starting to make sense why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would want to move to a more remote, secluded location, especially now that they’ll be raising a family. Hopefully the false rumors will soon become a thing of the past.
