Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their surprising plan

In January, Prince Harry and Meghan shared their plan to take a step back from their royal duties. The couple struggled with life in the spotlight and hoped to split their time between the UK and North America.

Queen Elizabeth, however, while supporting their wishes, was not keen to provide a half-in/half-out option and approved their official exit for March 31.

At the time, the queen released a statement, explaining, “Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”

The statement continued, “I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”

Prince Harry is reportedly ‘anxious’ since their exit

While Prince Harry remarked after the queen’s decision that he and Meghan felt that leaving their royal duties was their only option, there has been plenty of speculation about whether they made the right decision.

One source claims that Prince Harry has become “anxious” and worried about leaving the royal family and moving to Los Angeles. The insider told Express, “I get a strong sense Harry is becoming anxious about the situation they’ve found themselves in.”

Prince Harry is ‘nervous’ about their post-exit life

While the source didn’t make any further claims about how Harry and Meghan are adjusting to their new chapter, royal expert Katie Nicholl explained to ET that Prince Harry may be struggling with the adjustment.

“He has the added pressure of now having to forge a new life for himself in a country without an infrastructure, and without the level of support that he enjoyed when he was a prince of England,” Nicholl explained.

She added, “I think there is a great sense of trepidation for Prince Harry. As much as he is optimistic about the future, I think he’s nervous about the future as well. I think he is apprehensive.”

“He doesn’t have the same support, he doesn’t have the same infrastructure,” Nicholl noted. “He doesn’t have a clear plan ahead of him. And I think it is probably quite daunting for him.”
