Prince Harry Just Acknowledged Being A Dad For The First Time In the Sweetest Way

Prince Harry is going to be a dad. The red-headed royal and his wife, Duchess Meghan Markle just announced that their first child is on the way, and honestly we might be more excited then they are. The royal newlyweds announced their good news to their family on Oct. 12, 2018, at the prince’s cousin, Princess Eugenie’s wedding. Kensington Palace didn’t wait very long to announce the news to the world; the public got confirmation that a new royal baby is on the wat on Oct. 15, 2018.

The Palace tweeted to the world, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.”

The news came just as the gorgeous duo began embarking on their first royal tour together and Prince Harry got the chance to talk about being a dad for the first time in the sweetest way.

A whirlwind tour

Markle and Prince Harry are about to have a very busy Oct. Just after Princess Eugenie’s wedding they embarked on their first royal tour together which will lead them to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand.  It will be a very hectic two weeks since the tour begins in Sydney on October 16 and ends in Rotorua, New Zealand on the 31st.

The tour will also include the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, an organization that was founded by Prince Harry that helps wounded veterans.

An insanely hectic schedule

When news of Markle’s pregnancy hit the media, sources close to the royal family were eager to share that she was  “feeling well” and very healthy after her 12-week scan. That’s a good thing because she’s going to be on feet quite a bit during the next two weeks.  Both she and Prince Harry will undertake 76 engagements on the tour including, the Inviticus Games, meeting with His Majesty King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipauʻu in Tonga, and most importantly, hanging with the koalas at the Taronga Zoo.

A thrilled first-time dad

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle attended a reception in Sydney where the prince spoke bashfully about becoming a dad for the very first time.

He said, “It’s great to be back in Australia, and especially even more so, this is my wife’s first trip here, so I’m very excited to show her this incredible country of yours. We’re both absolutely delighted to be here and to see you serving beer and tea at an afternoon reception in true Aussie style. We also, genuinely, couldn’t think of a better place to announce, uh, the upcoming baby, be it a boy or girl, so thank you very much.”

If you notice, the prince was very careful not to reveal the gender of their forthcoming child during his speech. However, he did have to stop and pause while referring to the baby.

Though Markle did not speak to the crowd herself, she did interact with reception attendees including Australian singer Missy Higgins, who brought her 9-month old baby daughter, Luna, to the event.

The royal couple was super coy and cute as they constantly grinned at one another. Markle reportedly spoke with mathematician and TV personality Eddie Woo about becoming a mom. She said, “We’re ready! We’re excited to join the club.”
