Prince Harry Just Proved He’ll Do Anything to Protect Meghan Markle

Anyone who’s been paying attention to the royal family lately knows one thing without question — Prince Harry is in love with his wife, Meghan Markle, and will do just about anything to make sure she doesn’t get hurt. How do we know this? He’s shown it multiple times, both in words and by his actions.

The latest of these is a jaw-dropping lawsuit Prince Harry levied against Mail on Sunday, a British tabloid that’s been accused of using illegal methods to obtain private information about the royal family. They stand by their tactics and insist they’ve done nothing wrong.

Until the case goes to trial, we won’t know who is telling the truth — but for now, we know that Prince Harry is willing to risk everything to defend his wife’s honor.

Prince Harry is so different than he used to be

The Duke of Sussex never had a great relationship with the press. But before he met and married Meghan Markle, he was a lot more easygoing and was even seen as the “class clown” of the royal family, with a joking, jovial nature. He seemed to be the eternal bachelor, dating around but never making a permanent commitment. Plus, he had a few eyebrow-raising stunts that qualified him as a bit of a bad boy.

That image basically changed overnight once things became serious with Markle. It was like Prince Harry matured in an instant thanks to her influence, which some royal fans say is detrimental. Followers point out that Prince Harry has been looking grim and serious lately, and question if his new role as a family man is really making him happy.

In Tembisa, Johannesburg, today The Duke and Duchess visited to meet young entrepreneurs at the YES hub – a hive for creativity and social enterprise. Their visit was an amazing tour of the ingenuity and opportunity – seeing businesses that varied from food to essential sanitary products for local women. During their visit, they were able to sample food from ‘Chef Mish’ – a local masterchef winner – which he makes at the site as part of his catering business and cafe. They then joined YES community members to take part in training and tests that will help them gain skills and find work. On the third stop today, entrepreneur Moss showed The Duke and Duchess the organic produce he's growing in the township with aquaponics – supplying local restaurants. And finally, The Duke and Duchess met the women behind the amazing Blossom Care Solutions – who are making 80,000 sanitary pads every month for women in their community. They are 100% compostable, and provide an essential low-cost product for women and girls. The Duchess has long campaigned on this issue and wrote in Time magazine in 2017, saying: “In communities all over the globe, young girls’ potential is being squandered because we are too shy to talk about the most natural thing in the world. To that I say: we need to push the conversation, mobilize policy making surrounding menstrual health initiatives, support organizations who foster girls’ education from the ground up, and within our own homes, we need to rise above our puritanical bashfulness when it comes to talking about menstruation.” • See our previous post to see The Dukes speech #RoyalVisitSouthAfrica Photo ©️ PA images

He’s willing to choose Meghan Markle over his family

Remember the whole royal feud thing between Prince Harry and Prince William? Though it was never confirmed, multiple sources reported that the rift between brothers happened when Prince William warned Prince Harry not to rush into marriage with Meghan Markle. Rather than heeding this wise advice, the Duke of Sussex responded by shutting his brother out and making things very awkward in the royal family.

Things appear better between the brothers now. But the whole incident made it clear that Prince Harry was willing to damage his brotherly bond if forced to make a choice between William and Meghan.

Prince Harry attacked the press before

Though this most recent lawsuit against the tabloids is significant, it’s not the first time Prince Harry railed against their shady dealings. When Prince Harry confirmed the status of his relationship with Markle in 2016, he tainted the happy news by issuing a stern warning to the media, saying the “wave of abuse and harassment” needed to stop immediately.

Now he’s back again with accusations that have been “many months in the making” and seek to send a message to overly aggressive tabloids. While Mail on Sunday isn’t the only culprit, this lawsuit is seen as a major statement on so-called red top journalism.

“There is a human cost to this relentless propaganda, specifically when it is knowingly false and malicious, and though we have continued to put on a brave face – as so many of you can relate to – I cannot begin to describe how painful it has been,” Prince Harry said in an official statement.

It’s clear Prince Harry is willing to go the distance to defend his wife no matter what the repercussions might be.
