Prince Harry Loves That His Marriage To Meghan Markle Made Him Part Of An ‘A-List’ Couple
In the short time they have been married, Prince Harry has learned that being with Meghan Markle has its advantages. The couple, who tied the knot in May of last year, recently attended the red carpet premiere of The Lion King, and body language experts believe Harry thoroughly enjoys being part of an A-list couple. Here is a look at how Harry has adjusted to being the husband of a Hollywood star.
Prince Harry takes the lead
Being a part of the royal family since birth, Harry is no stranger to the spotlight. But his celebrity status took on a whole new meaning when he exchanged vows with the former Suits star in 2018. Since tying the knot, Harry and Markle have gained international attention, especially in Hollywood. So when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped out to attend the premiere of The Lion King, body language expert Judi James was surprised that Prince Harry was so willing to take the lead in his new role.
“Harry’s body language signals suggest he’s fully tuned into his new celebrity status, looking confident, relaxed and rather dashing as he walks the red carpet with Meghan,” James shared.
According to Express, James added that Harry looked happy at the premiere and was thrilled to be taking the lead, despite Markle’s level of familiarity with these types of events. Between his wardrobe choice and his facial expressions, Harry seemed like his old extrovert self at the premiere, proving, at least to James, that he is content with being a part of a Hollywood power couple.
Prince Harry’s laid-back manner at the premiere is also completely different than his formal behavior at royal events, which could indicate that he is more comfortable when he can step outside of the confines of the royal family.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry dazzle at ‘Lion King’ premiere
Harry and Markle wowed royal watchers at the Lion King event, walking down the red carpet holding hands and smiling big for the cameras. Markle, of course, is used to being in the spotlight and seemed to enjoy being back in her old element.
She was so comfortable that she rubbed shoulders with Beyoncé and Jay-Z at the event, and their friendly interaction made headlines the following day. While a lot of the attention was on Markle, Harry did not seem to miss a beat on the red carpet.
Rocking a black tie and suit that would make James Bond jealous, Prince Harry greeted Beyoncé with a kiss on the cheek that was very appropriate with her interactions with Markle. He also kept a loving hand on Markle throughout the red carpet appearance, proving that he is still very much in love with the former actress.
Beyoncé, of course, was on hand at the premiere because she voiced Simba’s love interest, Nala, in the film. The actress appeared happy to greet Markle and was clearly grateful for the exchange.
Should Harry and Markle be less Hollywood?
The Lion King premiere has some royal experts believing that Harry and Markle should be less Hollywood moving forward. Caroline Frost, who has covered the monarchy for years, believes that Queen Elizabeth and her staff should push Harry and Markle to be less Hollywood and more like other members of the royal family.
This is a similar tactic that was used on Camilla Parker Bowles when she tied the knot with Prince Charles in the early 2000s. Frost believes a move away from the Hollywood culture would help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relate to the public more than they currently do.
Frost pointed out how Harry and Markle were heavily criticized for the photos they shared online of Archie’s christening. Some royal watchers thought the images were too artistic in nature and should have been more in line with traditional photo ops. Frost hopes that palace officials can help curb this backlash by encouraging the Duke and Duchess to act more formal during public outings.
That said, the christening photo, which was shared on Instagram, garnered close to three million likes. Markle and Harry may have their detractors, but they are clearly doing something right.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not commented on the reports surrounding their status as an A-list couple.
