Prince Harry May Find His New Life Away From the Royal Family ‘Tough,’ Expert Claims
Prince Harry shared that his decision to leave royal life wasn’t taken lightly, but he and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex felt they had no other option. As they begin their new life, however, one royal expert believes Prince Harry might have quite an adjustment after leaving the royal family — after all, he’s been a royal all his life and enjoyed all of the privilege.
Prince Harry and Meghan finalized their royal exit
In January, Prince Harry and Meghan announced their plans to “step back” and be financially independent from the royal family. The queen worked to determine a plan that would help them accomplish this goal and released a statement sharing her support of their decision.
Queen Elizabeth noted at the time: “Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life.”
The Sussexes have already made the move to Canada and will officially end their royal duties on March 31.
Will this new life be tough for Harry?
There definitely is a transition in going from a royal existence with staff who handles the daily details to breaking out independently and needing to do all of those tasks yourself. Royal photographer Arthur Edwards believes that Prince Harry might find this “tough.”
“When I see now this road he’s taken, where he’s got to, more or less, start a whole new career — I don’t feel sorry for him, I wish him well,” Edwards told The Sun.
“But I hope after a year he rethinks and comes back and rejoins the firm,” he added. “He’s a boy who’s never had to worry about parking his car, he’s never had to worry about sorting out his tax returns or his insurance.”
Edwards believes there might be a big adjustment period for Harry. “All of this is going to be new to him. No one is going to do that for him now, he’s either going to have to do it himself or employ someone to do it,” the photographer noted.
“He’s going to find life, as most of us do, pretty tough. He’s 35 and he’s never had to do anything like that and he may wish he’d never gone down that road,” Edwards explained.
Will Prince Harry and Meghan ever return to royal life?
Prince Harry has made this sacrifice for Meghan, Edwards believes, but they have the option to return to the royal family. “Of course, it’s what his wife wants and, as they say, what Meghan wants Meghan gets. He’s so in love with her, he’ll do anything to keep her happy,” he noted.
Edwards continued, “That’s what the price is and he’ll pay it because there’s no secret agenda here — he’s made it very clear he wants to leave the royal family and do something of himself.”
Edwards believes that the Sussexes could return to the royal life, telling The Sun: “I don’t think they’ll stay there forever. I think they’ll be coming back more and more and I think Harry will miss it. I think he will miss life with the family. I mean, America’s great, Canada’s great, but it’s not as great as here and he knows that and I think he’ll be back.”
