Will Jessica Mulroney be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s godmother?

We wouldn’t be surprised if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle name her stylist best friend, Jessica Mulroney as godmother to their prince or princess. After moving to Toronto to film her television show, Suits, Meghan Markle grew very close with Mulroney’s family. In fact, her three kids even served in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding party. Some also believe the Mulroney household is where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry hide out from time-to-time (something that started back when they were secretly dating).

In addition to Jessica Mulroney, Meghan Markle has a list of close girlfriends she could also consider. Here are some other top contenders for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s godmother.

Princess Eugenie

Traditionally, the royal family doesn’t select siblings as godparents. However, that doesn’t mean all members of the royal family are off-limits. Case in point: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could select their cousin — and close friend — Princess Eugenie as godmother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly have an ultra-close relationship with Princess Eugenie and her new husband, Jack Brooksbank. They have even traveled overseas together and Princess Eugenie visited Meghan Markle when she lived in Toronto.

Serena Williams

Meghan Markle ran with some of the most powerful women in the world long before joining the royal family (and calling Queen Elizabeth her grandmother-in-law). In fact, she considers tennis pro, Serena Williams one of her closest friends and confidantes. As a new mother herself, Serena Williams has likely shared her pregnancy and postpartum advice with Meghan Markle and will likely continue to support her through her transition into motherhood. We wouldn’t be surprised int he Duchess of Sussex names her athlete bestie godmother to her and Prince Harry’s baby.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is another popular pick for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s godmother. The actress first met Meghan Markle at the 2016 ELLE Women in Television dinner and have remained ultra close. Since they first met, the two have gone through some major life changes together. Both of them got married in 2018 and Meghan Markle transitioned out of her acting career and into her role in the royal family. They have supported each other through all these life-changing moments. We wouldn’t be surprised if Priyanka Copra shows up for her friend through this life change, too.

Benita Litt

Another potential godmother for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby? Benita Litt. Meghan Markle’s long-time best friend still keeps a close relationship with the Duchess of Sussex and some suggest she could be named one of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby’s godparents.

As it turns out, Meghan Markle is godmother to Benita Litt’s children — two daughters named Remi and Rylan — and she keeps a very close relationship with their family. She even spent Christmas 2016 (when Prince Harry was her boyfriend) with them!
