Baby Archie’s latest update is too sweet

During the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, the new parents provided the latest baby report, with Prince Harry sharing that Archie was “bouncing up and down” and “smiling all the time” during their royal visit.

Fans were thrilled to get a good look at the baby when the family met Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as Archie was the picture-perfect happy tot (who definitely resembles his dad).

While the Sussexes only brought Archie out for that one appearance during their royal visit, it was more than enough to satisfy their fans who have been hoping to see more than a brief glance of the baby.

In footage shown during the documentary, they discussed Archie’s personality, with Harry explaining, “He clearly loves Africa as well because he was out there looking out the window.”

Prince Harry added: “He’s found his voice now. He is bouncing up and down, he’s making more noise than he has ever made before and he is smiling all the time.”

Markle also shared how “chatty” Archie had been, noting: “We thought he was happy before. He is the happiest here. He’s been so chatty the past two days.”

Life is “tiring” with a baby

The documentary’s interviewer, Tom Bradby, asked Markle how she was doing as a new mom and she admitted, “It’s a lot with a five-month-old.”

Bradby noted how it’s “tiring,” with Markle adding, ”Well, life is, right? I think any mom can relate to that. But he’s (Archie) doing really well. He’s been sleeping really well.”

She added that the special meeting with Tutu will always be an important moment. She explained: “It is not lost on us, what a huge and significant moment that is. I think Archie will look back at that in so many years and understand that right at the beginning of his life he was fortunate enough to have this moment with one of the best and most impactful leaders of our time. It is really special.”

Will the family move to Africa?

Given the success of their trip and the special connection Prince Harry has with the continent, he was asked if he would consider moving his family there. Harry shared: “I don’t know where we could live in Africa at the moment. We’ve just come from Cape Town, that would be an amazing place for us to be able to base ourselves, of course it would.”

He added: “But with all the problems that are going on there I just don’t see how we would be able to make as much difference as we want to without the issues and the judgment of how we would be with those surroundings. It’s a very hard place to live when you know what’s going on, but then you’re slightly disconnected from it.”

Even if they don’t reside in Africa, the Sussexes are committed to doing more work there, with Harry sharing: “The rest of our lives, especially our life’s work, will be predominantly focused on Africa, on conservation. There’s a lot of things to be done and a lot of problems here, but there’s also huge potential.”
