Meghan Markle explained the mystery around the baby’s gender

Earlier this month, Meghan Markle explained to a guest at the Endeavor Fund Awards that they didn’t know the baby’s gender, as a video of the exchange showed Markle sharing: “We don’t know. Yes, we decided to keep it a secret.”

She added, “That way we’ll have something… And it’s one of those things, like, no matter what it is, it’s still going to be a surprise.”

Turns out they (reportedly) know if they’re having a boy or a girl

While she may have explained that they didn’t know Baby Sussex’s gender, according to report from Us Weekly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do, in fact, know the sex and have already told people. No doubt, if this is true, those in the know have been sworn to absolute secrecy.

A source told the magazine that Markle shared the big reveal with friends at her New York City baby shower — the couple are reportedly having a boy!

Fans noticed some baby shower clues about the baby’s gender

Those fans who were keeping a close eye on the goings on at the baby shower noticed some small details that pointed to whether Markle is pregnant with a boy or a girl. On one hand, the flowers that were delivered to The Mark hotel where the shower was held were mostly pink. Likewise, there was some chatter that an assortment of pink themed goodies were at the party.

Some eagle-eyed fans, however, spotted Markle’s pal, Abigail Spencer, arriving to the baby shower with a gift that seemed to be wrapped in colors that would indicate a boy.

Have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle been trying to throw fans off?

Back in October, Prince Harry had remarked that “everyone is predicting it’s going to be a girl.” Then there was the mixed messages seen at the baby shower, with some signs of a boy and other of a girl.

Additionally, reports circulated about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s nursery colors and theme, which are reportedly a “monochrome palette” of “whites and grays,” a detail which gave fans absolutely nothing to go on.

When is Meghan Markle’s due date?

Of course, we won’t know for sure the baby’s gender until he or she actually arrives which, given the vague due date of “spring” could be right around the corner or still some time off.

Many fans have tried to crack the code over the due date mystery, with some believing Markle could deliver in March and others calculating an early May birthday for Baby Sussex. Until then, the speculation over the baby’s gender continues and, in the absence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirming for cetain it’s a boy or a girl, we will wait until their new addition’s arrival to know for sure.
