When Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex revealed they were leaving the British royal family they also announced that they would be financially independent of the royals. Since they are still members of the royal family, they have to tread lightly.

There was a great deal of concern that the Sussexes would be capitalizing on their royal status. In the months following Megxit, the pair have left the U.K. and brought a home in Santa Barbara, but they hadn’t made any money until now.

The Sussexes have just signed a massive deal with Netflix and experts say it’s worth an insane amount of money.

Though there has been a lot of rumors surrounding them regarding what they will do next and the current status of their relationship with the royal family, Meghan, and Prince Harry have been focused on themselves and their son, Archie.

Amid the release of the tell-all book Finding Freedom, the pair has been focused on volunteering in LA, settling in their new home, and planning what’s next. An insider told Hollywood Life,

Harry and Meghan are working on so many different initiatives and so many charities. They have a great team working with them, but the workload is still intense. They are focused on the future and what they can do to help out during this pivotal time in history.

There has been a lot of concern about how the Sussexes will earn money now that they’ve purchased their $14.7 million home. However, after much speculation, the pair have announced their new lucrative deal with Netflix.

The New York Times has reported that the Sussexes have launched their yet-to-be-named production company. The couple has just signed a major multiyear deal with Netflix. The deal includes documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows, and children’s programming. In a statement, the Sussexes said,

Our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope. As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us. Netflix’s unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action.

This is how much Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal might be worth

When the Sussexes’ Netflix deal was announced there no word on what the pair were paid. Netflix declined to disclose the amount but Netflix’s co-chief executive and chief content officer, Ted Sarandos said in a statement,

We’re incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere

Though neither Meghan nor Prince Harry has ever produced anything in the past, Daily Mail is reporting the Netflix deal could be worth up to $150 million. If the Sussexes agree to appear in any of their programmings, then the price could go up.

It looks like the Sussexes are well on their way to creating the life they deserve.
