The Real Reason Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Want Their Own Communications Office

On the heels of a rumored Kensington Palace split, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have allegedly sought out their own communications office. Last fall, news of Prince William and Prince Harry’s plans for an official separation sent fans into mourning over the brothers’ decade-long run. And, now, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming move to Frogmore Cottage, their fast-approaching due date, and a potential new Instagram account, it appears they might actually go their separate ways.

Some reports claim that the Dukes of Cambridge and Sussex feel a sense of urgency to cut ties “within weeks.” But, regardless of when it will happen has nothing to do with Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship — aka, their alleged feud. Instead, the brothers have a focus on their increasingly different royal responsibilities and making sure everything is settled before Baby Sussex’s late April, early May arrival.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle get their own communications office

Part of the separation between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Duke and Duchess of Sussex involves a new communications office. “William and Harry are working to make sure the Sussexes have an office that can support their family when they move to Frogmore this spring,” a source told The Sunday Times.

The real reason the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could receive a new communications team has nothing to do with the rumored animosity with Prince William and Kate Middleton at Kensington Palace. Instead, it’s more about overall organization. As Prince Charles prepares for his future role as monarch and Prince William begins to transition into the Prince of Wales role, they might be considering a way to better relay information about their efforts to the public.

Right now, the Kensington Palace Instagram account, @kensingtonroyal shares all official business conducted by Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle. However, with a house separation — and move to a new, physical house — there could be room to expand the family’s social media presence with a new handle for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle … one that might already exhist.

Frogmore Cottage Instagram

Royal family fan accounts are a dime a dozen and fans have already begun to use “Frogmore” as inspiration for their Instagram handles. But, one handle, @frogmoreroyal, has a strikingly similar name to the current @kensingtonroyal account. And, unlike most fan accounts, has yet to share photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, which leads us to believe that this could be a placeholder for the Frogmore Cottage Instagram. However, the account doesn’t follow any of the official royal family Instagram accounts (perhaps to remain under the radar until the separation is final) and the account is public. Most placeholder accounts remain private until they are ready for launch.

Kensington Palace has yet to confirm the Cambridge-Sussex split and any of the other rumors — including a new Instagram account for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — related to the allegations.
