Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Keep Making Secret Visits Across the U.S.
Though they are perhaps one of the most visible couples on the planet —Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have used everything in their arsenal to remain incognito amid Megxit and their transition away from the British royal family.
One of the main reasons the Sussexes decided to step away from their roles as working roles is because of the constant scrutiny that they endured. From commenting on their use fo private planes to racist attacks thrown at Markle — living amid the British press and public was suffocating them both.
Now, the pair have gathered their infant son, Archie, and moved across the pond to Vancouver Island in Canada, where they are living a peaceful and low-key life. However, the Sussexes aren’t planning on staying hidden forever– now that they are financially independent of the British crown, they have to make some money. As a result, the duo has been secretly jetting across the United States.
Inside Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s future business plans
In addition to getting their Sussex Royal charitable foundation off the ground, the Sussexes have already begun making some major financial plans for their future.
“Meghan is actively looking for representation. She has begun outreach,” a source tells Us Weekly. “It can be a manager or an agent, but she’s reaching out to people to find someone to represent her for future professional projects. “[Meghan] has no plans to do another show like Suits, but Harry’s been encouraging her to do more voice-over work, writing, producing and directing in her free time.”
In fact, the pair might be spending the summer in Los Angeles — the duchess hometown to be closer to business opportunities. “They have started to look at homes online and are in the process of interviewing security teams,” a source close to the Sussexes told E! News. “They are getting their ducks in a row and seeing if it’s logistically possible. They’ve reached out to people in L.A. and would like to assemble a team of locals. Meghan would like to be able to do meetings at the house and also be able to host friends and entertain. Those are two things that are important to her.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been making secret appearances across the U.S.
When they were full-time royals, the Sussexes weren’t able to control their image as much. Post-Megxit, they are able to move about the globe with some semblance of privacy. Last week, the pair was in Miami where the duke spoke at a JP Morgan event for $1 million. “It was all very hush-hush, with a lot of security,” E! reported. The pair reportedly stayed at Markle’s best friend, Serena Williams’ Palm Beach home.
Earlier this week, the couple slipped away from Vancouver Island and headed to San Francisco where they held a brainstorming session and meetings with professors and academics at Stanford University. They were there to research ideas and initiatives for their charity. Stanford University’s president, Marc Tessier-Lavigne, met with the Sussexes when they arrived.
The Sussexes are being very careful about their image
Though they are no longer working royals the Sussexes still represent the queen and they don’t want to be seen as tacky for any opportunities that they take on. They’ve already turned down an opportunity to present at the Oscars.
“We could easily compare them to any former presidents,” Royal commentator and author Kristen Meinzer explained to Business Insider. “My mind keeps going to Barack and Michelle Obama and how [they] make money. The reason I compare the two is that they’re already friends with each other and I would put them on the same level in terms of fame.”
