Prince Harry Regrets LA Move and ‘Wishes He Was Back in the Fold,’ Royal Expert Claims

Does Prince Harry have any regrets since he left the royal family and moved to Los Angeles with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex? One royal expert claims that Harry is missing his life in the UK and “feels sort of like an alien” in LA.

Prince Harry and Meghan left the royal family

In January, Prince Harry and Meghan announced that they planned to take a step back from their royal duties and arrangements were made for the couple to move on to their next chapter. At the time, Queen Elizabeth released a statement in support of the Sussex’s exit after they had agreed to give up their HRH titles, the use of the name Sussex Royal, and any public funding.

“Following many months of conversations and more recent discussions, I am pleased that together we have found a constructive and supportive way forward for my grandson and his family. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved members of my family. I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life,” the queen’s statement noted.

The statement continued: “I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family. It is my whole family’s hope that today’s agreement allows them to start building a happy and peaceful new life.”

Prince Harry missed a big opportunity after their exit

Royal expert Russell Myers believes that Prince Harry may be regretting the exit and finding his life in LA feels quite foreign, telling Good Morning Britain that Harry is “wishing he was back in the fold” with the royal family.

Part of the regret, Myers and ITV’s Lorraine Kelly discussed (via Entertainment Daily), is that Prince Harry missed the opportunity to make an impact in his royal role during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Especially now, especially with the pandemic and with Black Lives Matter, if the two of them if they were over here, it would have done such a lot of good and really united people just by being visible,” Kelly explained.

She added, “Meghan made an amazing speech about Black Lives Matter, it was quite extraordinary, really from the heart, really passionate. I just wish they’d been able to stay here somehow and that would have helped a lot.”

Prince Harry reportedly misses the UK

Myers further shared how “people are feeling it was a huge missed opportunity on both sides of the fence” since Harry and Meghan are no longer part of the royal family.

“Certainly the people I’ve spoken to connected to Harry have said he misses the UK, he moved to LA, he’s an alien in that Hollywood showbiz set that he’s now involved in by-proxy and perhaps he’s sitting in LA at the moment wishing that he was back in the fold and that he could have done so much during this crisis,” Myers explained. “I think it’s a real, real shame.”
