Prince Harry Won’t Accept Any Work That Makes Fun of the Royal Family

For the first time in his life, Prince Harry is living outside of the confines of the British royal family. For his entire life, the Duke of Sussex has been raised within The Firm. Though he’s spoken openly about the trials and tribulations that have come with living such a visible life, the duke decided that it had become unbearable due to the things that his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, endured as a royal.

Now, the Sussexes have stepped down from their roles as senior working members of the royal family. They will have the opportunity to live the lives that they desire while taking on projects that will lead to their financial independence.

Despite finding royal life unbearable, the Sussexes have a great deal of respect for Queen Elizabeth and royal work. In fact, now that he’s in Los Angeles, Prince Harry has a major stipulation about the type of projects he will consider.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s post royal life will be scrutinized

From their LA move to any project that they put their names on, including Meghan’s work on Disneynature’s Elephant, any and everything the Sussexes do will be scrutinized.

Not only will they feel the wrath of the press and the public, but the royals will also be watching them very closely. In fact, Megxit will be in review until March 31, 2021.

“Putting that 12-month review in place goes to show you that the Queen will be watching them like a hawk,” Julie Montagu Viscountess Hinchingbrooke said in the Channel 5 documentary, Royals: A family in crisis. “She will want to see everything that they are doing, what they are making money from and how it is affecting the Royal Family. So there must be some concern from the Queen about what their intentions are.”

The Sussexes are in a good place with the royal family

Though the prince reportedly feels some guilt about being so far from his family amid the pandemic, the coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought the Sussexes closer to the royals. All of the Megxit drama has fallen into the background.

Meghan wants Harry to remain close to his family,” a source told Hollywood Life. “There’s no question about that. It’s been a tough time but at the end of the day he still loves his family and that won’t change and hasn’t changed. He has always been close to his grandmother and he very much wants her to have time with Archie, he loves seeing them together. It was sad they couldn’t bring Archie over on their trip but it was the sensible choice and everyone understood. They do want to go back as soon as they can to remedy that though.”

In fact, there has been a ton of communication between the Sussexes and the royals. “Things are in a better space now between the couple and the royal family,” an insider told Entertainment Tonight. “While of course there have been tensions, the family is getting through it.”

Prince Harry won’t take on any project that makes fun of the royal family

Though Prince Harry and Meghan want to make money to maintain their lifestyle, they won’t be doing so at the expense of the royal family.

“Offers have come flooding in to [agent Nick]Collins for Harry and Meghan,” a source explained to Daily Mail. “They are worth tens of millions of dollars and some offers are absolutely in their wheelhouse of charity ideas, however some are straight-up advertising and marketing promotions and commercials. And of course, having a narrative about Harry and Meghan either reflecting on their royal links or stepping away is an easy storyline. However, Harry has instructed his and Meghan’s team to nix anything that in any way could be negative toward the royals. Essentially anything that is negative to the Queen, Prince Charles, his brother or the throne is off-limits.”

Prince Harry might want a different life, but he still respects his family.
