Prince Harry Says World Will ‘See the Baby’ in Two Days ‘As Planned’

It’s a boy! Baby Sussex has arrived. Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, gave birth to a healthy baby boy at 5:26 a.m. BST or, 12:26 a.m. EST weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces. New father, Prince Harry, announced the baby’s birth telling the world what they can expect from the couple and their new son over the next few days.

Smiling and downright giddy Prince Harry told the media that Markle and his new son were doing “incredibly well.”

“Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined,” Prince Harry said laughing and smiling.

Prince Harry says he and Markle are ‘still thinking about names’

“We’re still thinking about names,” the Duke of Sussex told reporters, according to the BBC. “The baby’s a little bit overdue, so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it. That’s the next bit.”

While speaking to the press, Prince Harry said Baby Sussex may make his first public appearance in two days.

The details surrounding the baby’s birth were posted on the couple’s Instagram account. An image with a blue background said, “It’s a boy. The caption read, “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz. The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”

One fun fact about the yet-to-be-named Baby Sussex is that he shares a birthday with actor, George Clooney, who is friends with Prince Harry. Clooney and his wife, Amal, attended the prince’s wedding last May.

When did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announce they were expecting?

The couple announced they were expecting their first child, who is now seventh in line to the British throne, in Oct. 2018, five months after getting married in May 2019.

Markle and Prince Harry reportedly told the royal family they were expecting their first child together at Princess Eugenie’s wedding on Oct. 12, 2018, just three days before they publicly announced Markle’s pregnancy.
