Prince Harry Is Struggling Without Any Structure in His Life, Expert Reveals

Like anyone else who is trying to find their new normal amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Prince Harry is taking it one day at a time. The 35-year-old prince is trying to define a new path for himself outside of the only life he’s ever had. Though the Duke of Sussex spent a decade in the military, as a member of the British royal family, he’s never been “normal.”

Now, due to Megxit and the pandemic, Prince Harry is isolated with his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and his son, Archie Harrison in Los Angeles, California, a world away from his home in the U.K. Initially, when the Sussexes announced they were resigning from their royal roles, they hoped to also launch their new Archewell foundation shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, the world as a whole has come to a screeching halt.

While Meghan is reportedly relishing her time away from the harsh spotlight, the prince is at a loss without any structure in his life.

LA might not be the best place for Prince Harry

Unfortunately, Prince Harry might not like LA, especially since he’s poised to become a full-fledged celebrity who is constantly harassed and photographed by the paparazzi. In fact, the Sussexes’ rental home on Vancouver Island in Canada may have been a better fit for the pair.

“Harry absolutely loved life in Canada and has made no secret of how much he misses life there,” a royal insider told Express. “The time that he spent there with Meghan and Archie is probably the happiest he has ever been. Harry misses the pace of life there and the fact they were living in a really secluded place where they could be themselves, relax and enjoy life. The biggest issue really has been the timing. Moving at the moment is incredibly difficult. Harry and Meghan have uprooted their life and have been unable to properly immerse themselves into LA life and get settled. Harry is hoping that once the lockdown is lifted things will be a lot easier and they will fall into step with the pace of life there.”

Prince Harry has reconnected with Prince William

Despite everything, there has been a bright spot amid this pandemic. It seems like the red-headed prince has rekindled a close relationship with his older brother, Prince William. For the last couple of years, it has been rumored that the brothers were drifting apart. However, it appears that all the royal brothers needed was a bit of distance and space.

“There have been clearly some quite major rifts in that relationship, but things have got better and I know that William and Harry are in touch on the phone,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight. “They have done video calls together, they have done a lot of family birthdays and I think with Prince Charles not being well, that really forced the brothers to pick up the phone and get back in touch.”

Prince Harry doesn’t know what to do without structure in his life

From the moment he was born, Prince Harry has lived a very structured and regimented life. He had to adhere to the structure of the British royal family and then in the Army, he had to abide by certain rules and regulations.

Without all of that, it appears that the prince is feeling rather hopeless, especially since the Archewell launch has stalled for now. “This is a very strange time for us all, but I think Harry is missing having a structure to his life right now,” Nicholl told Vanity Fair. “He doesn’t have friends in L.A. like Meghan and he doesn’t have a job. So at the moment, he’s a bit rudderless, but it won’t always be like this, and he knows that.”
