Prince Louis Is Set to Make His First Official Royal Appearance This Weekend
Get ready to see what we expect will be adorable pictures of Prince Louis during the annual Trooping the Colour parade this weekend.
What is Trooping the Colour?
The parade is an annual tradition kicking off the British monarch’s birthday. Although Queen Elizabeth II’s actual birthday is the 21st of April, festivities take place in the summer (blame the weather in London).
Prince Louis has been largely kept out of the spotlight
Prince Louis, who the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed on April 23, 2018, will make his official debut at the Trooping of the Colour parade in honor of his great grandmother and will hopefully show the world some of his personality because, to be honest, we don’t know much about Prince Louis.
Below is Middleton holding Prince Louis at his christening in July of 2018.
He’s been photographed only a handful of times, most recently at The Chelsea Flower Show, an event organized by the Royal Horticulture Society, where Middleton helped design the Back to Nature garden.
Prince Louis looked adorable in photographs exploring the garden with his parents and siblings. Prince George gave his mother’s garden a score of 20 on a scale of 1-10 when Prince William asked.
The family’s tour of the garden marked the first time the public’s seen Prince Louis since the Cambridge family released snapshots of the little prince ahead of his first birthday taken by his mother.
Look at Prince Louis’s face. Our hearts are melting.
Prior to those sweet shots, the Cambridge family debuted a Christmas card ahead of the holidays last year featuring Prince George (who wore pants in a break from royal tradition), Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis sitting on a log with their parents.
Taken at Anmer Hall, the entire family looked decidedly more relaxed than normal, likely given the fact that they were being photographed in the privacy of their own home.
Below is a close-up for good measure.
Before that the world got to see baby Louis when the British royal family released a family portrait in honor of Prince Charles’s in Nov. 2018 when he celebrated his 70th birthday.
As the portrait shows, Prince Louis has grown a lot between November 2018 and now.
Prine Louis could very well be walking at Trooping the Colour
Earlier this year, during a visit to the Henry Fawcett [sic] Centre in Kennington, south London, Middleton revealed that Prince Louis had started crawling.
“Louis just wants to pull himself up all the time,” Middleton told another mother. “He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them,” she added.
Middleton made that comment in early March 2019, so it’s not a stretch to think that Prince Louis could be walking now three months later.
Meghan Markle is expected to attend the event
Another person is expected to be on the guest list come Saturday. Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly coming out of maternity leave to attend the Trooping the Colour parade.
It will be the first time Markle’s made a public appearance since she and Prince Harry presented baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor to the world on May 8, 2019, two days after his birth.
We know all eyes will be on Markle and little Prince Louis during the festivities this weekend.
