This Is How Prince Philip Really Feels About Megxit

The British royal family is constantly in the spotlight. From Prince Andrew’s shocking scandal with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s resignation as working royals — Queen Elizabeth’s family is continually under scrutiny.

The queen’s husband, Prince Philip, who was once one of the most vocal members of the royal family has all but vanished from the spotlight. The Duke of Edinburgh was a constant pillar at the queen’s side since they wed in 1947. However, since August 2017 once he retired from public life, Prince Philip has rarely been seen.

In fact, the last time he was seen in public was in May 2019 when he attended, Lady Gabriella Windsor’s royal wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor. However, his lack of presence doesn’t mean the duke doesn’t have strong feelings about Megxit.

Prince Philip is one of the most outspoken members of the royal family

Though the British royal family is known for biting their tongues — Prince Philip never really followed that rule. In fact, he used to say outlandish and bombastic things that often got him into a bit of hot water. Also, though the queen is the public face of the family — it’s the Duke of Edinburgh who made the most division about his family internally.  An insider once told The Daily Beast, “He rules the Royal family with a rod of iron.”

The duke has been living at Sandrgium Estate in Norfolk — while the queen handles business from Buckingham Place in London. However, that has left a heavy strain on the queen to handle things without his advice and support. “I’m sure it’s been good for his health not to be there getting involved in the day-to-day stresses and strains but I think the queen has missed his hands-on approach to family matters,” a royal source explained.

Prince Philip is very fond of Meghan Markle

Like his son, Prince Charles who adores, the Duchess of Sussex, the Duke of Edinburgh is also fond of the former actress. Though he initially warned Prince Harry about marrying Markle because of her profession, she won him over when they first met. “Meghan asked a lot of questions, about Philip’s side of the family and his connection to Greece,” an insider told Express.

That was a turning point for the duke. “The Duke of Edinburgh really got on with her,” the source told the publication. “He liked Meghan’s personality, so he felt it was OK if she dated his grandson. The reason he liked her was because she was very bold.”

This is how Prince Philip really feels about Megxit

Though Prince Philip has not publically made a statement about Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex– royal experts are speculating that the prince, who sacrificed his navel career for the monarchy, isn’t too pleased.

“During his whole life the Duke has shown devotion to the Queen and service to the monarchy and it is likely he will have taken a dim view of Harry and Meghan’s recent activities,” royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told Express. “These included releasing a statement saying they intended to step back as senior royals without warning the Queen and other senior royals.”

Initially when they announced their resignation — the Sussexes hoped to be part-time royals. Fitzwilliams speculates that Prince Philip was the one to advised Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles against this option as well as stripping Prince Harry’s military titles and discontinuing the Sussexes use of their His/Her Royal Highness titles. “He may well have played a part in her decision not to allow them to use their royal titles or to perform royal duties part-time,” Fitzwilliams added.

It looks like Megxit was a tad too bold for Prince Philip.
