Prince William and Prince Harry Will Come Together During This ‘Powerful’ Moment and Heal Their ‘Wounds,’ Royal Expert Claims
Prince William and Prince Harry may have developed a rift between them in recent years, but they will always have a bond as brothers. Royal expert and biographer of Finding Freedom, Omid Scobie, believes the two men will finally settle their differences and move forward when they share a “powerful” moment together — the unveiling of a Princess Diana memorial statue.
Prince Harry admitted there was tension with Prince William
When Prince Harry was asked about the feud rumors in a 2019 interview for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey, he seemed to confirm the brotherly tension.
“Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under… inevitably, you know, stuff happens,” he explained at the time.
He continued, “But, look, we’re brothers. We’ll always be brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and, as I know, he will always be there for me.”
Prince Harry also touched on their busy lives keeping them distant, but assured, “I love him dearly. The majority of stuff is created out of nothing.”
The book ‘Finding Freedom’ serves to ‘illuminate the issues’ of the royal family
With Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex in Los Angeles, there haven’t been any opportunities for royal fans to see the brothers together publicly. It’s hard to know what the status of their relationship is these days.
During a September 2020 Heirpod podcast episode, Scobie was asked, “Do you think that this book will help or hurt the relationships with the family going forward?”
“It certainly will always be uncomfortable reading for anyone involved in some of these stories because I think we really tackle some sensitive situations,” the author explained. “But I think I use the word ‘sensitive’ because we have also done our best to treat them sensitively.”
He continued, “I think rather than sort of adding to any drama, we’ve just tried to sort of illuminate the issues behind those fractures that we already see in front of us today. I think it’s important to note that where the book leaves off in sort of the beginning of April, things have progressed since that point.”
“We’ve certainly seen Harry continue to remain close to the queen,” he offered as one example.
The brothers may finally settle their differences when they share this ‘powerful’ collaboration
Scobie further gave his prediction about how Prince Harry and Prince William will likely arrive at a better place in the near future. “We are in a much better, more positive place than when we were six months ago and I think that that’s evident to all watching this story,” Scobie explained.
“I think we make it very clear in the book that there is hope for a lot of these relationships. Certainly with William and Harry, that bond of brotherhood is unbreakable,” he added.
In discussing the 2021 scheduled unveiling of the Diana memorial statue, Scobie said that it “will be something that brings William and Harry together through their mother’s legacy in a way that I think will be very powerful.”
“I think it’s those moments like that and the bond that they do share that will see none of the sort of wounds that perhaps existed a few months ago be permanent.”
