Prince William, Kate Middleton Confront Radio Host That Mocked Princess Charlotte
Prince William grew up in the spotlight and all his moves have been documented by the press around the world. His children with Kate Middleton are now subject to the scrutiny of the media.
On the day of her first day of school, Princess Charlotte was photographed arriving and meeting her teacher. Upon her arrival, her teacher was waiting outside to meet her.
Prince George’s little sister stood on her tippy toes and gave her new teacher a handshake. The moment was adorable and captured by photographers for all fans to see.

Kate Middleton and Prince William were listening
Turns out that not everyone found the handshaking endearing. Greg James from BBC Radio 1 mocked the moment on his radio show and had some famous listeners.
The host recently revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton were listening to his program on the morning Charlotte went to school.
“I saw the photo during the show and said, ‘Who the hell shakes hands with their teacher on the first day?’” he told The Mirror.
A few weeks later, James came face-to-face with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Kensington Palace, who confronted him for his comments.
“They said, ‘We were listening on the morning of little Charlotte’s first day, and we want to talk to you about the handshaking thing….’” When they said that he was like, “Oh, God, no!”
The radio host then told them teachers “were not like that in my day” and he was lucky if they even “got a smile.” Lucky for him, the royals were chilled about his comments and nothing more came about it.

The Dukes of Sussex have problems with the media
The royals are monitored closely by the press, which has led to serious problems for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Things have been getting so bad that the Duke of Sussex has taken legal action against two British tabloids.
“Unfortunately, my wife has become one of the latest victims of a British tabloid press that wages campaigns against individuals with no thought to the consequences – a ruthless campaign that has escalated over the past year, throughout her pregnancy and while raising our newborn son,” Harry said in the statement.
It was the constant berating from the media that led to the untimely death of Princess Diana. After a photographer tried to take pictures of her with her new romantic interest her driver tried to lose them. Trying to evade being photographed the driver lost control of the vehicle and had an accident that took her life.
“I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces,” Harry added. “We thank you, the public, for your continued support. It is hugely appreciated. Although it may not seem like it, we really need it.”
It’s easy to forget that the royal family is composed of real people just like the rest of us. Words matter and they can be hurtful, especially when they’re about little kids.
