Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Parenting Advice to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Is Too Sweet: ‘It’s Such a Special Time’
The arrival of Baby Sussex is a thrilling time for first-time parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, so getting a bit of wisdom from parents who have some experience under their belt is definitely welcome. It’s especially wonderful to get that insight from other royal parents — and Prince William and Kate Middleton are definitely quite familiar with the process, as they’re raising three children.
Prince William and Kate Middleton respond to the happy baby news
Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a sweet message on their Kensington Royal Instagram account following the baby’s arrival.
They reposted the announcement from Prince Harry and Markle’s Instagram, noting: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today, and look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family.”
Prince William is ‘thrilled’ and has some advice for his brother
During an appearance to announce a charity sailing race event, Prince William was asked about the newest addition to the royal family and said he was “absolutely thrilled” about his new nephew, adding that he was “looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things have quieted down.”
Prince William further remarked: “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting!”
As for any words of wisdom, Prince William noted that he has “Plenty of advice,” sharing, “I wish him all the best, and I hope the next few days they can settle down and enjoy having a newborn in the family and all the joys that come with it that.”
Kate Middleton called this ‘a special time’
Middleton further remarked how “it’s such a special time” of year to welcome a child, sharing, “Louis and Charlotte just having had their birthdays — it’s such a great time of the year to have a baby. Spring’s in the air, so it’s really great.”
She continued: “As William said, look forward to meeting him and finding out what his name’s going to be. It’s really exciting for both of them. These next few weeks, it’s always a bit daunting first time around so wish them all the best.”
Prince William and Middleton have been through those newborn moments so they know the challenges all too well, as parents to Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 4, and Prince Louis, 1.
Prince William shared his biggest parenting fear
Earlier this year, during a visit to the charity Future Men, which helps prepare soon-to-be dads for their upcoming parenting role, Prince William shared how the early days with a new baby were particularly daunting to him.
He shared: “They are so fragile and everything’s so tiny, their little fingers and toes, you do feel like if you move them around too much they’re going to break almost but they don’t.”
Prince William added: “The fear of having a newborn baby that’s very vulnerable and that’s what you spend most of your time worrying about, thinking what do I do? And that’s the thing isn’t it, it’s very daunting of how tiny they are when they first arrive.”
