Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘Really Annoyed’ By Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Claims Royal Expert
Did a recent comment made by Prince Harry about how many children he and Meghan Markle will have really rub Prince William and Kate Middleton the wrong way? According to one royal expert, William and Middleton were “really annoyed” by the comment, which many perceived as a criticism of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince Harry and Markle only want to have two kids
In an interview Prince Harry conducted with Dr. Jane Goodall for the British Vogue issue that Markle guest-edited, the two discussed environmental concerns.
That’s when Harry remarked that they only want two children, noting, “It does make it different. I think, weirdly because of the people that I’ve met and the places I’ve been fortunate enough to go, I’ve always had a connection and a love for nature. I view it differently now, without question. But I’ve always wanted to try and ensure that, even before having a child and hoping to have children…”
“Not too many!” Dr. Goodall responded, with Prince Harry adding, “Two, maximum!”
Did the comment really create tension between the couples?
As these things go, every little comment from any of the four royals becomes a rumored sign of tension among them, so it’s not surprising that people made the leap that Prince Harry’s comment in some way threw shade at Prince William and Middleton.
With three children already and the possibility of having more, clearly William and Middleton have exceeded the Sussexes’ planned family size.
Additionally, there were rumors that William and Middleton had delayed their trip to Balmoral until after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex return home so they don’t have to hang out together.
Royal expert Robert Jobson wrote in the Daily Mail that the comment about children, the rumored travel plans, and “Meghan’s stint as guest editor” might have upset the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Are these claims true?
E! News’ royal expert, Melanie Bromley, discussed all of these claims, noting: “Every year the Queen invites members of the Royal Family to stay at her Scottish estate, this year it’s no different. Except this year there is one expert claiming that William and Kate may have delayed their Balmoral trip because they don’t want to have a run-in with Harry and Meghan.”
She continued, “According to royal reporter Robert Jobson, recent comments made by Harry and Meghan may have rubbed William and Kate the wrong way. Jobson says that when Harry recently declared in an interview that the and Meghan plan on only having two children, maximum, this is their bid to save the planet, it actually really annoyed the Cambridges’ who, of course, we know, already have three.”
Bromley shared: “The same commentator also notes that Meghan may have upset Kate by saying that she didn’t want to appear ‘boastful’ by putting a picture of herself on the cover of British Vogue. If you recall, Kate Middleton did appear as a cover star for British Vogue in 2016, and by the way, she looked bloody amazing doing it.”
She added: “So is there really more tension between William and Kate and Harry and Meghan? Or is this the case of normal stress that comes from trying to schedule a family vacation? Honestly when is planning a holiday not chaotic?”
“Despite the continued rift being cooked up by the trolls, Kate and Meghan actually appear to be putting on a united front,” Bromley asserted, as “almost all the evidence suggests that these two women are getting along so well. They’re often seen smiling in one another’s company. This year for the second time in a row, Kate and Meghan attended Wimbledon together.”
