Here’s Why Prince William and Kate Middleton Probably Won’t Have Another Baby
Prince William and Kate Middleton already have their hands full with three kids. However, ever since the couple welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, there has been speculation that they might try for a fourth. Though anything is possible, it’s been nearly a year and a half, and there still hasn’t been a pregnancy announcement. Here’s why Kate and William probably won’t have another baby.
There have been rumors that William and Kate will have one more child
Ever since Louis was born, people have suspected the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge might want to have a fourth child. William is only one of two kids, and Kate is one of three. However, Queen Elizabeth had four children, and William and Kate might want to follow in her footsteps. Plus, it’s common for rulers to have multiple kids, since they want to make sure one of their children will rule if anything ever happened to another child. But so far, the two have not made a pregnancy announcement.
William and Kate have a lot to handle with three kids
Raising three young children is no easy task. Queen Elizabeth took nearly a decade break between her oldest two children and her youngest two, since she had so much responsibility as queen. However, William and Kate had all three of their kids in less than five years, and now, raising so many little ones is probably a headache for the couple because they have many other royal duties to tend to. While both are getting ready to take over the throne (William is currently second in line), trying to balance three kids, let alone four, is likely hard enough as it is.
There is a chance having a fourth could impact their relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Prince Harry recently spoke with activist Jane Goodall, where he said that he and Meghan Markle would have no more than two kids “maximum” since overpopulation could harm the environment. Some saw it as a dig toward William and Kate, and it’s possible that a fourth baby might cause tension between William and his brother, since it would directly go against Harry’s suggestion that more than two kids isn’t good for the planet. There have been rumors that Harry and William aren’t on the best terms (though none of those have been confirmed), and it might not make sense to add insult to injury.
The two likely would have already announced a pregnancy by now
If William and Kate were planning to have another baby, they probably would have already made an announcement. It’s been more than a year and a half since Louis’ birth, which means their fourth child would be at least two years younger than their current youngest. Timing-wise, it doesn’t add up that they would wait much longer than that to announce a pregnancy. If they don’t make an announcement by the end of this year, it might be safe to assume they are sticking to three kids. However, if Meghan and Harry have another baby down the road, William and Kate could get baby fever all over again.
