This Is How Prince William Tried To Fix His Relationship With Prince Harry After Their Feud

Though there had been rumors for months that Duchess Kate Middleton and Duchess Meghan Markle were in the middle of some massive royal feud –the truth finally came out. It was not the ladies at all who were in the middle of a rift. Instead, it was brothers Prince William and Prince Harry who were experiencing some major drama in their relationship.

Royal filmmaker Nick Bullen, explained to Fox News, “It’s actually that William and Harry have had a rift. All brothers fall out. All families fall out. Their fallout at the moment is becoming public.” Now that Baby Sussex will be making his or her debut any day now –Prince William, in particular, is looking to smooth things over with his little brother. This is how the future King of England tried to end their feud.

Why did Prince William and Prince Harry start feuding?

It looks like the royal rift between Prince William and Prince Harry began in 2016 when the younger prince introduced Meghan Markle to his family. Prince William reportedly questioned the former actress’ intentions and asked his little brother to take it slow. This is sound advice, however, it caused the red-headed prince to dive off the deep end. According to Daily Mail, “Harry went mental and accused his brother of trying to finish their relationship before it had started.”

Unfortunately, because Prince Harry could not protect his mother from the press and prying paparazzi he has become obsessive about protecting Markle. A royal courtier told The Sun, “It’s my opinion that Harry feels he couldn’t protect his mother, so he’s going all out to protect his wife. This is his way of atoning.” Things haven’t been the same between the brothers since.

How did Prince William try to fix his relationship with Prince Harry?

Since Prince William is about to become an uncle for the first time and with his brother and sister-in-law moving to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and forming their own royal household –the father-of-three is eager to repair his relationship with Prince Harry.

Apparently, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles were apprehensive about a separate Sussex household –but Prince William advocated on his brother’s behalf. In the past, only direct heirs to the throne were allowed to have their own households. Royal correspondents Emily Andrews and Omid Scobie discussed the split in the latest episode of their podcast, On Heir. They said,

From what I understand, their budget for the team wasn’t particularly big, and it was actually Prince William who had to step in and fight to get Harry a little bit more money to spend on building a team because he understands what this means to Harry and how much he wants to achieve and also how important Harry and Meghan are for the image, the brand and the future of the royal family.

As the heir to the throne –Prince William has had to deal with a world of pressures on his shoulders, but as an older brother he’s also watched his brother struggle under the stigma of being the “spare.” Now that Prince Harry has his own family, it’s clear Prince William just wants his little brother to be happy.
