Princes Beatrice Will Get a New Title After Her Wedding Even Though Her Sister Eugenie Didn’t

Princess Beatrice is still going forth with her wedding. Wedding planning, in general, is stressful but the poor woman has had to plan her nuptials amidst her father being shunned for his connection to Jeffrey Epstein and her cousin Prince Harry dominating all of the attention by announcing that he and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex were stepping back from their roles as working royals. The royal family has been in crisis mode for pretty much her entire engagement.

Though this has been a stressful time for Beatrice, she will reportedly come out of it with more than one new title.

Princess Beatrice will not be a Duchess

When Meghan and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge got married to their spouses, they both became duchesses. But a female cannot inherit her father’s title. So while Prince Andrew is the Duke of York, Eugenie and Beatrice will never be the Duchesses of York.

Princess Beatrice’s marriage will give her a new title

The royal family announced Princess Beatrice’s engagement in September of 2019.

“The Duke and Duchess of York are delighted to announce the engagement of Princess Beatrice to Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi,” the family wrote on their official Instagram. “Her Royal Highness and Mr. Mapelli Mozzi became engaged in Italy earlier this month. The wedding will take place in 2020. This photograph was taken by Princess Eugenie in Italy.”

“Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi said; ‘We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.'”

After Beatrice marries Edoardo, she will inherit more than just the title of Mrs.

“Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation,” Mozzi’s father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, told The Daily Mail. “He is a count — his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”

What will Princess Beatrice get out of this marriage?

Beatrice and Edoardo will inherit the family’s ancestral seat, which is an 18th Century villa in northern Italy.

The villa, which is an hour from Milan, has nine bedrooms and is situated on four acres. The family only uses it as a summer home so the villa is open for rentals for around £14,700 a week during certain parts of the year.

The Mapelli Mozzi family is also a family full of accolades. According to the outlet, the family has eight ambassadors, 15 judges, 29 doctors of law, two bishops, ten abbots, six captains, five doctors, 21 writers and poets, and 59 notaries.

In addition to all of that, the count skied for Britain in the 1972 Winter Olympics in Japan. Talk about a family to marry into.

Where will the wedding be?

Given all that has been going on in the royal family, Princess Beatrice’s wedding won’t have quite as much fanfare as her royal cousins’. The nuptials will take place on May 29th at the Chapel Royal. The chapel can only hold 150 guests, compared to Prince Harry’s wedding where an estimated 600 people were invited.
