Princess Beatrice’s Fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, Is Likely Inviting His Ex to the Royal Wedding
It seems like just yesterday that Princess Eugenie announced her engagement to Jack Brooksbank. And now, it’s her older sister who’s taking the spotlight.
Princess Beatrice may not be as talked-about as Meghan Markle or Kate Middleton, we can’t forget her iconic hats and wild parents who’ve made quite a splash over the years. While many thought Beatrice was going to get engaged to her ex since they were dating for a decade, it rocked her fans’ worlds when they broke up. Now, she’s ready for a fresh start with her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Mozzi and Princess Beatrice appear to be totally in love, but it seems Mozzi’s ex-fiancée may be making an appearance at the royal wedding. Here’s why that’s suspected.
Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi proposed to Princess Beatrice in September 2019
Ever since Princess Eugenie’s wedding, royal fans wondered if Princess Beatrice, who’s now 31, was ever going to tie the knot. Since it was reported that she was dating Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, many noted how ultra-close the two seemed, and speculation started early that an engagement was incoming. Finally, by September 2019, Mozzi proposed to Princess Beatrice.
“We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together,” the BBC reports they said in a joint statement. “We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
So, who is Mozzi, and how did he meet Beatrice? It turns out these two knew each other for years thanks to their families. Today, Mozzi is known for being a property tycoon and having plenty of wealth of his own.
Mozzi has a controversial past with his ex-fiancée
We’re all very happy for Princess Beatrice, but there are a few facts about Mozzi that have given fans pause. Radar Online reports Mozzi was once engaged to Dara Huang, and their engagement lasted for three years. A source told the publication that Mozzi appeared to pursue a relationship with Beatrice even when he was still living at home with Huang, too. Not only that, but Huang and Mozzi have a son, Christopher, who goes by the nickname “Wolfie.”
So, how does Huang feel about this new relationship for Mozzi? We’re not sure, as a source told Radar, “Dara has not commented on anything and is refusing to speak to the press. She doesn’t want to say anything publicly at this stage. Her only concern is for the welfare of their son.”
It looks like Princess Beatrice is getting well-acquainted with Mozzi’s son, too. People reports she, Mozzi, and Wolfie have already gone on vacations together, and she’s taking her new role of step-mother quite seriously.
Will his ex be at the wedding? Sources suspect she will be
Everyone’s wondering whether Huang will appear at the wedding, as she plays a significant role in Mozzi’s life considering she’s the mother of his son. According to The Daily Express, there’s a good chance she’ll make an appearance. It seems she and Mozzi have an amicable relationship, and she even reached out to congratulate the couple. “I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families,” she told The Daily Mail.
Not only that, but The Daily Express reports The Daily Mail found Huang is taking etiquette lessons in preparation for the big day. “Her friend Myka Meier, who runs the New York-based business Beaumont Etiquette, visited London this week and showed Dara how to cross her legs in a lady-like, elegant fashion,” columnist Richard Eden said. “Dara practiced inclining her legs in what’s known as the ‘duchess slant’, then confided in friends: ‘It really does look better.’”
It seems Wolfie is also taking etiquette lessons to prepare for his role as best man. We can’t wait to hear more about the wedding prep as the big day draws nearer!
