Princess Beatrice’s Wedding Plans Are Complicated Amidst Prince Andrew’s Sex Scandal Drama

Royal fans are overjoyed at the prospect of another royal wedding. Sure, Princess Beatrice isn’t as popular or close to the throne as Prince Harry was. But still, her wedding nuptials will have that over-the-top royal flair that fans love to watch.

However, there’s a dark cloud hanging over the happy planning. Princess Bea’s father Prince Andrew is currently dealing with a mess of a scandal thanks to allegations that he was close friends with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. As of right now, the extent of Prince Andrew’s involvement is unclear.

No matter what the Duke of York did or didn’t do, the whole scandal is negatively impacting Beatrice’s royal wedding planning in the worst ways.

Rumor has it no wedding dress designer wants to dress Princess Beatrice

It’s a great honor — and great publicity — for a fashion designer to showcase their styles at a royal wedding. In exchange for the advertising, those designers often donate the gown free of charge, assuming they’ll make up the cost with future sales. But there are rumors circulating that Princess Beatrice is having a hard time finding someone to step up.

As Radar Online reported, a royal insider said, “At this point, rather embarrassingly, the response has been lukewarm and it looks like she might have to actually pay and design it [the gown] for herself.”

Princess Beatrice was already nervous about selecting the perfect look since she’ll inevitably be compared to Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, and her younger sister Princess Eugenie on her wedding day. This new development can’t be helping.

Taxpayers aren’t thrilled to pay for the wedding either

Unfortunately, the wedding gown is the least of Princess Beatrice’s problems. There’s also a small controversy over who will end up paying for the affair.

Traditionally, British taxpayers fund a large portion of royal weddings, which inevitably cost millions of dollars. When Princess Eugenie got married in fall 2018, citizens became enraged over this custom and demanded to see the cost breakdown and how much they were being forced to pay for a fancy party they didn’t get to attend.

With this in mind, there’s a good chance Princess Eugenie will refuse taxpayer funds when it comes to her own wedding celebration. After all, she’s marrying a multimillionaire property tycoon, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Surely these two can afford to split the cost at least.

Will Prince Andrew walk his daughter Princess Beatrice down the aisle?

The royal family has remained mostly silent regarding Prince Andrew’s alleged involvement in the Epstein sex scandal, as they do with much of the negative press they receive. But we have to imagine that the Duke of York’s family is mortified over the allegations. Especially during this happy time of their lives.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced in 1996 but have remained quite friendly over the years, and their daughters are close to both parents. However, another rumor confirms that Princess Beatrice does not want her father walking her down the aisle because it would just be too controversial with everything going on. Like any bride, Beatrice wants minimal drama on her big day.

We’ll find out soon enough if any of this is true!
