Princess Diana Would Be So Proud of Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle Today
Princess Diana was one of the most iconic female figures of our time. She was known as a bold and independent figure amongst the royal family. Although she did seem to truly respect the queen and appreciate her royal duties, she was known to be a bit rebellious and make her own rules, rather than following in the royal traditions.
Princess Diana definitely cherished her two children: Prince William and Prince Harry. So, what would the Princess of Wales think of her two daughters-in-law, Kate Middleton
Kate and Meghan are both humanitarians
As most people know, Princess Diana was very dedicated to her philanthropic work. The Princess of Wales was praised by millions all over the world for the work she did in Africa to help AIDS victims and their families. She was also recognized for her bold and courageous efforts to stop the installments of landmines due to the fact that they were hurting so many innocent people and children.
Before Meghan was put on center stage as a royal, she was already very active in a number of humanitarian projects. In 2016, Meghan had traveled to Rwanda to help with the efforts of getting clean water to the small villages in that area. While she was in Rwanda, she had also visited with the local children at the nearby school to talk with them and teach them some fun activities like painting with watercolors.
Since becoming a royal, Meghan’s charitable work has grown to new heights. She is now a Royal Patron of four different charities that specialize in the arts, women empowerment, and the welfare of animals. She has also supported her husband’s efforts in continuing to carry on his mother’s legacy to help support HIV and AIDS research.
Like all other royals, Kate Middleton also has a long list of charitable organizations that she supports. However, she spent a lot of time choosing her patronages to ensure that they were ones that were near and dear to her heart. She dedicates a large portion of her time to many different charities, including the arts, addiction centers, and children’s hospice. She, along with her husband, William, and brother-in-law, Harry, have founded the Heads Together organization which has helped to bring awareness to mental health disorders.
They are both strong, independent women
Princess Diana was known for her untraditional way of raising her children. Unlike the other royal children before them, Diana made sure that William and Harry had “normal’ childhood experiences, like going to McDonald’s, standing in line at Disney, and attending public schools.
Kate has somewhat followed in her mother-in-law’s footsteps by also trying to give her children a normal life. She seems to be a very hands-on mother. She only has one nanny, and it has been reported that Kate changes her children’s diapers herself and either her or William drop their oldest two children off to school themselves.
Meghan and Harry’s child is not here yet, however, being that the Duchess of Sussex has long been known for her efforts to create equality for women, it is hard to imagine that she would adhere to the traditional royal standards of motherhood.
Princess Diana was a remarkable woman that was not afraid to stand up for what she believed in. Although she, unfortunately, is no longer with us anymore, we know that if she were here, she would not only be proud of the men that her sons have become, but she would also be proud of the women that they have chosen to spend the rest of their lives with.
