Princess Eugenie’s Instagram Followers Are Now Begging Her to Become a Working Royal

From Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to Kate Middleton and Prince William, there’s always something new and exciting going on with the royal family. And while Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice haven’t always been in the royal spotlight, royal family fans are now more curious than ever about their lives. Most recently, it seems Princess Beatrice just celebrated her birthday — and many others are commenting on Princess Eugenie’s Instagram regarding her latest events and photos.

Fans aren’t scared of sharing their opinions on social media, too. And it seems many think Princess Eugenie would make the perfect working royal. Here’s what they’re saying.

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have talked about how they’re like the common folk

They may be royalty, but Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice have attempted to convince the public that they’re just like everyone else. Way back in 2008, Princess Eugenie talked to journalist Geordie Grieg about her royal total — and Express noted she doesn’t love the term “princess.” As she said, “How do I play the princess thing? I don’t really. I don’t like talking about it much and find it annoying when people say things like, ‘Oh, you’re the princess.’ One of my best friends jokingly says, ‘Hi, Princess,’ and I say, ‘Shut up.’”

Not only that, but Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice also interviewed with Vogue and described how average their day-to-day life is. “Nowadays, it’s so easy to recoil when you see a perfect image on Instagram – but it’s important that it’s real. We’re real,” Princess Eugenie reminded her fan base. And it seems the royal sisters believe they’re more like the common folk because they hold down jobs completely apart from their royal status.

Neither princess works for the royal family

Unlike Prince Harry, Prince William, and many other notable members of the royal family, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice do not get money from the Sovereign Grant, Good Housekeeping notes. While the sisters are often seen attending royal events, they don’t actually carry out official duties for the family. For this reason, they carry other jobs to keep them afloat (though we’re sure their famous parents, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, would help if necessary).

The publication notes Princess Beatrice works in finance and consulting after achieving a degree in History, and she’s currently working at software company Afiniti as the Vice President of Partnerships and Strategy. As for Princess Eugenie, she’s gone the more artistic route. She uses her art history and English literature degree to help her with her duties as the director of the London art gallery, Hauser & Wirth.

Even with the sisters’ jobs, many wonder how often they’re actually working, as Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are often seen on lavish vacations and criticized for their lack of hard work.

Royal family fans think Princess Eugenie should be a working royal

She may be devoted to her art gallery, but royal fans would love to see Princess Eugenie become a working royal. The princess posted this photo to Instagram with the caption, “I was privileged to join Ambassador John Richmond, the US Ambassador at Large to Combat Human Trafficking, on a visit to the grave of William Wilberforce to learn more about the historical journey of British abolitionists.” And because of her devotion to learning more about such important subject matter, her fans flocked to the comments to tell her she should be a working royal.

“I hope you are given a chance to be a working royal I think you would be fabulous,” one of her followers said. Another added, “U look beautiful & I think u would be a fantastic addition to the ‘young working Royals’ [sic].” Yet another commented, “@princesseugenie you are an incredible Ambassador for your country and woman world-wide. I believe you should be a full-time working royal Ambassador! [sic].”

Will Princess Eugenie really take on royal work full-time? At this point, probably not. But there’s no doubt she’ll keep fighting for causes she believes in!
