Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas: Did Andy Cohen Know They Would End Up Together?
The world was captivated when Indian actress Priyanka Chopra married singer Nick Jonas in a fabulous, multi-day wedding. Their whirlwind romance drew the attention of fans and media personalities everywhere, and in the months since their December 2018 wedding, fans have only gotten more curious.
On a recent visit to Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the new Mrs. Jonas shared some of her favorite moments from the wedding, and whether or not it was actually good friend Andy Cohen that helped the happy couple get together.
What did Chopra reveal about the wedding?
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s wedding took place in India and lasted well over two days, with multiple ceremonies involved. Both Chopra and Jonas have very large families, so the wedding was huge, with hundreds of friends and family members on hand to help celebrate the couple. Chopra and Jonas are both highly successful in their respective fields and spared no expense when it came to planning the perfect wedding.
That sense of luxury extended to their wedding gifts as well. Nick Jonas’s mother made headlines when the extravagant early wedding present that she gave to Chopra was revealed. While some mothers-in-law might gift their future daughter-in-law with household appliances or stationary, Mrs. Jonas went all out and gave Chopra a pair of stunning gold and diamond earrings that are over six total carats.
Even with incredible gifts like that, there were others that stood out even more. In her late March interview with Andy Cohen, Priyanka Chopra said that Nick Jonas’s brothers really came through with fabulous wedding gifts. Chopra said that oldest brother Kevin Jonas gave the couple hundreds of bottles of wine, while Joe Jonas gifted them with an incredible refrigerator that is shaped like a car. Their dinner parties are bound to be the most fabulous around!
Did Andy Cohen predict Chopra and Jonas’s romance?
During Chopra’s interview, Cohen pointed out that she had also visited Watch What Happens Live in 2017 when the tabloids were just starting to report on her and Jonas being together as a couple. Cohen admitted that he “worked her hard” to try and get her to acknowledge the relationship, but Chopra wouldn’t crack. Cohen showed the 2017 clip, and when it was over, amidst raucous laughter from Chopra and the studio audience, he shouted that he “wanted it to happen,” which was why he was pushing her so hard. Priyanka Chopra seemed to agree and told Cohen that he “willed” the relationship to happen.
While the host might not exactly have predicted the relationship, he’s been in the celebrity interview game a long time, and could probably read the chemistry between Chopra and Jonas before either of them were really willing to talk about it in public. Even though Chopra was an expert at deflecting questions about her personal life, there’s little doubt that Cohen’s questions made the star somewhat uncomfortable, and forced her to think about her relationship with Jonas in more serious terms.
What’s next for the happy couple?
Both Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been open about the fact that they want to start a family together. Chopra spoke out about her familial goals in February 2018, saying that she’s a big believer in the institution of marriage, and wants to have lots of children. While no baby news has been announced yet, it’s very likely that Chopra and Jonas will soon be welcoming a brand-new family member. In the meantime, the newlyweds can get plenty of practice being around children by playing with their adorable little nieces.
