Although it might seem like Chopra was always a beautiful trendsetter among her peers growing up, the actress revealed that this was really not the case at all.
“Confidence is not something I was born with,” she shared with InStyle. “Growing up, I was quite the tomboy.”
However, Chopra’s mother had a big influence on her life and helped her discovered how to look and feel good.
She said: “My mom was impossibly glamorous. She always smelled amazing and used to walk around in a cloud of Dior Poison perfume. I envied her incredible grace and how she was so well turned out. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become more like my mom, and I love being well put-together.”
Pageants also played a role in transitioning Chopra from a cool tomboy to a more feminine woman.
Priyanka Chopra’s secrets for glowing skin
Nowadays, Chopra seems to have perfected her beauty routine. She has impeccable, glowing skin, and Chopra recently shared her secrets with InStyle.
“I feel best when my skin is glowing and I barely need any makeup,” she said. “Whenever I have a night in, I slather on a really thick face cream like Obagi Hydrate Luxe and leave it on as a mask for about 20 minutes.”
Chopra, who is a global ambassador for Obagi, added: “I exfoliate my body at least twice a month. I spend five minutes buffing my skin with a loofah in the shower, then afterward, I blend a hydrating oil like argan oil with body lotion and really go to town massaging the mix into my skin.”
Additionally, twice a month, she also does oil treatment on her scalp in a way that her mother taught her: “Combine a bit of coconut oil with a dash of castor oil and massage it into your scalp, let it sit for a little while, then shampoo. She swears this helps your hair grow in healthy.”
How Priyanka Chopra stays in shape
When it comes to how Chopra stays fit, she does not have any special secrets. Chopra once shared that she does not follow strict diets since she is blessed with good genes that do not cause her to gain a lot of weight. As a result, Chopra usually just eats based on how she’s feeling.
“I wing it by the seat of my pants,” she told ELLE US. “If I feel, ‘Ughh, I put on a few pounds’ and I feel gross about [myself] I suddenly start eating salad, protein, and soup. Otherwise, if I am feeling like I am in great shape I am okay with cheeseburgers and pizza.”
Chopra does not go to the gym much either. However, she likes to exercise anyway, so she often does yoga or go to spin class.
“You know, I’m lazy. I want to take advantage of the fact that I have a great metabolism,” Chopra once said. “When I start getting fat I’ll work on it! I like food, and I don’t like the gym, and as long as I look like this without doing anything, why bother?”
