The further along the conversation moves, the more clarity it has gathered as Mike Tyson appears to be headed toward a comeback.

There hasn’t been an opponent or date set for that potential fight, but actor David Arquette on Thursday morning during an interview on WEEI radio confirmed that Tyson would be back in the squared circle. (H/T WEEI)

“Oh yeah. That’s a real thing,” he added. “Did they announce who it was? … I know who it is.”

Well?

“I’m sworn to secrecy,” Arquette said with a chuckle. “And I know when it’s going to be.”

It’s called excitement. It’s called hype. We’re building it all up. Mike Tyson is one of the greatest champions we have and he has one more fight in him. That’s what my wrestling return was all about so I’m behind him 100 percent.”

The news source may be an actor, but Arquette may have his connections and has personal dealings with Tyson over the years. It’s hard to trust him to be a reliable source, but all the dialogue is heading further in that direction.

At this point, there isn’t anything concrete that Mike Tyson will return to the ring, but all the telling signs suggest that.

Beyond his getting back into phenomenal shape at age 53, many others have voiced that they have had contact with Tyson’s camp in some way. It has ranged from Tyson Fury, Evander Holyfield, and Shannon Briggs in the boxing realm. There have been others from MMA, such as Tito Ortiz and Wanderlei Silva, who have also thrown their names into the mix. He has had no shortage of potential opponents for his return.

There are many factors at play, further backing the notion that Tyson is going to fight again after a nearly 15-year absence from the sport. The entertainment aspect of it all is there as he is still a significant draw despite his last fight over a decade ago. All of this should lead to Tyson getting back into the ring some point soon in what may be easily the biggest draw fight of the year.
