Proof That Meghan Markle Is Just Like Us
She may be the new Duchess of Sussex, but Meghan Markle is one of the most laid-back and easy-going members of the royal family! From her good-natured humor to her wonderful fashion sense, Meghan is just like us in more ways than most people realize.
While it very well may be true the majority of us are not married to a prince or live in a palace, that doesn’t stop us from relating to Meghan in more ways than one. So, what are some of the ways that Meghan Markle is just like the rest of us?
Meghan Markle grocery shops for herself and Harry
Now that Meghan is a member of the House of Windsor, she surely has people to cater to her every whim. However, Meghan is often seen at Whole Foods in Kensington, about a mile from the palace, buying groceries to prepare wonderful meals for herself and Prince Harry. In addition to that, she walks the distance from the palace to the store, often seen wearing running shoes and her husband’s favorite baseball hat.
Meghan holds Harry’s hand
Most royals, notably Prince William and Kate Middleton, refrain from showing affection while in public. This is why it was so surprising that Kate put her hand on her husband’s knee at Princess Eugenie’s wedding, a simple move that we typically don’t see from her! However, Meghan is never shy about holding Harry’s hand, even when the flashbulbs are going off. Sometimes, she will adorably link her arm in his, other times, she will clasp one of his hands with both of hers. There are even times when Meghan and Harry will put their arms around each other, or engage in a quick hug. What could be cuter than that?
She is independent
Before she ever even met Prince Harry, Meghan was a strong and independent woman, and that hasn’t changed since becoming a royal family member. Most recently, she demonstrated this by going to New York alone for a few days to spend time with close friends and enjoy her baby shower. Just like royal fans, Meghan enjoys taking initiative, and we admire her even more for it!
Meghan talks about her pregnancy
Royals before her, including Kate Middleton, typically did not talk about their pregnancies with members of the public. They kept their baby bumps covered up, and while they may have answered a vague question or two, they weren’t very open about the subject. Meghan, on the other hand, can often be seen cradling her bump and talking about her upcoming arrival with royal fans. She has been given suggestions for baby names and told people how far along in her pregnancy she is. How relatable is that?
She occasionally dresses casually
Meghan perfectly understands that being a royal doesn’t always mean getting all dressed up! She has famously stepped out in pants, maxi dresses, and even ripped jeans. Meghan may have a closet full of designer gowns and access to one of the most impressive jewelry collections in the entire world, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy the occasional comfy outfit just like the rest of us.
Although Meghan Markle has the honor of being known as “Her Royal Highness”, deep down, she is just like the rest of us! Meghan is a down to earth, relatable person who certainly never hesitates to let her personality shine through. Whether it be with her choice of activity, style of dress, or subject of her conversations, Meghan is adamant about the fact that she will always stay true to who she is, which is only one of the reasons she is so loved by fans worldwide!
