We all know that Queen Elizabeth has the unique privilege of having multiple homes to stay at. Whether she is at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, or her private Sandringham Estate, there is no doubt that she is in lavish surroundings with all she could ever need.
Although she is away from Buckingham for the summer, that hasn’t stopped her majesty from making sure the excitement continues to go on.
What is a typical visit to Buckingham Palace like?
Visiting Buckingham Palace is always a wonderful and memorable experience. Although you most likely won’t see Prince Harry or Kate Middleton wandering around, there are still plenty of reasons to go to the royal residence.
According to CNN, you definitely won’t want to miss out on things such as the grand staircase leading up to the State Rooms, the stunning chandeliers, and the Throne Room, which has been the setting for many royal wedding pictures, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Currently, the queen is doing something really fun at Buckingham. So, what is going on that nobody expected?
What fun thing did Queen Elizabeth do?
As if royal fans weren’t already excited enough about visiting a place that is steeped in history and where important royal events still take place today, the queen has allowed a Da Vinci themed escape room called Leonardo Artmergency! to be hosted at the palace.
For those who are wondering exactly what this entails, let’s take a look. For the next few months, Town and Country can report that the fun exhibition is displayed in the Queen’s Gallery. In the escape room, fans will see a collection of art called “Leonardo Da Vinci: A Life in Drawing,” but it will be more interactive than most art fans have ever experienced.
Featuring four rooms with clues and puzzles, everyone who visits will get to solve the mystery of the missing curator, splitting up into groups of four to eight team members, and taking place on Fridays and Saturdays.
The palace description of the escape room lets visitors know that they will have to be observant as well as be able to think outside the box, and also lets everyone know that there is no prior knowledge of art history needed in order to participate. How fun does that sound?
Has the royal family tried out the escape room themselves?
While we really don’t know the answer to this, it is definitely fun to speculate! How great would it be to know that the members of the royal family, such as Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and even Queen Elizabeth herself, have teamed up to solve a mystery?
According to Insider, the queen is always kept informed of what is currently happening at the palace, so it is definitely possible that she may have tried to consider all of the clues and solve the mystery on her own.
Is the escape room the only thing to do at Buckingham Palace?
Absolutely not. Those who are planning on going to Buckingham while this wonderful exhibit is taking place should definitely be sure to set aside enough time to see as much as possible.
According to Planetware, there are some amazing things to do there, such as the changing of the Queen’s Guard ceremony, the Royal Mews, where fans will see a display of carriages and stagecoaches, Clarence House, where Prince Charles and Camilla live, the Victoria Monument, the Guard’s Museum and more.
While we already knew that a visit to Buckingham Palace is an experience that no one ever forgets, we are so happy that her majesty is allowing for even more fun and amazing memories.
