Queen Elizabeth Misses Prince Philip, Has Only Seen Him Twice in Last Three Months

It’s no secret that Queen Elizbeth II and Prince Philip don’t live under the same roof anymore. The reason for this is because the Duke of Edinburgh, who is five years older than his wife, retired from royal duties in 2017 while Her Majesty has continued to work. Therefore, she still resides in her official working residence at Buckingham Palace but Philip moved away from the city of London to Wood Farm Cottage on the grounds of the queen’s Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

It was believed that the couple still saw each other a good amount on the weekends and when the queen did not have any engagements to attend. However, it’s now being reported that they only saw one another two times in nearly three months.

Here’s more on that and why Queen Elizabeth could really use her husband’s help at this time.

How often the queen sees Prince Philip

After it became public knowledge that the royal couple was living more than 100 miles apart, palace sources insisted that they still spent time together.

“[Philip] and the queen still see each other at some point in the week or weekends,” one insider said. “They see each other depending on Her Majesty’s schedule, but she works around it to see him as much as possible.”

However, it seems that is no longer the case. According to The Express, “She and Prince Philip have seen each other only twice for short periods in almost three months.”

The publication noted that the queen saw Philip for a weekend last month when she stayed at Sandringham and he has been to Buckingham Palace one time since then. Some royal watchers thought they would get together for their 72nd wedding anniversary on Nov. 20, but they did not as Her Majesty had official duties to attend on that day.

Why she really needs her husband now

While Queen Elizabeth understands that Philip left the hustle and bustle of the city to relax during his retirement, it’s believed that she misses having him around to help her sort out and handle certain things, especially now.

“I’m sure it’s been good for his health not to be there getting involved in the day-to-day stresses and strains but I think the queen has missed his hands-on approach to family matters,” a royal source opined.

Presently, the royal family seems to be in crisis mode following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s emotional documentary about their struggles and Prince Andrew’s interview about Jeffrey Epstein.

Harry’s family was said to be caught off guard by the documentary but the queen actually gave Andrew permission for his interview, which took place at Buckingham Palace and turned out to be a complete disaster. Many have wondered if Philip were there if he would have directed his son not to do the televised interview.

“[Philip] might have been a much stronger voice advising Andrew if he had been around more,” a friend of the monarch said.
