Queen Elizabeth Steps Out With Her ‘Rock’ Prince Andrew After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Announcement
Queen Elizabeth is moving on following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s stunning exit. Amid all of the drama with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Her Majesty stepped out with her son, Prince Andrew, who was recently forced to step down in light of a sex scandal. Queen Elizabeth may be saying goodbye to Harry and Meghan, but her appearance with Andrew is a massive show of support for her “rock.”
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Andrew step out
Andrew’s reputation was damaged after he was connected to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. One of Epstein’s former sex slaves accused Andrew of sleeping with her, and he took part in an interview a few months ago in a bid to clear his name.
The interview completely backfired on Andrew, who was forced to step down from his royal duties. Andrew has been keeping a low profile ever since and even skipped out on the Christmas Day service with the rest of the royals.
Although Andrew has created a lot of drama for his family, Queen Elizabeth continues to stick by his side. According to TMZ, Her Majesty recently stepped out with Andrew in what was a big show of support for the disgraced royal.
Queen Elizabeth rocked a checkered jacket for the outing while Andrew donned a suit and tie. They both smiled big for the cameras and seemed completely unbothered by his drama.
Prince Andrew is Her Majesty’s ‘rock’
The outing with Andrew comes weeks after Harry and Meghan announced their decision to quit the royal family. The couple’s big decision reportedly blindsided Queen Elizabeth, who scrambled to pick up the pieces.
While Queen Elizabeth has been dealing with Megxit, inside sources claim that Andrew has been helping her get through the drama.
“Andrew has been talking to her constantly on the phone and has now gone up to stay with her for a few days,” the source stated. “Behind the scenes we are talking about a family falling apart, and Andrew is doing his best to shore things up.”
The source added that Andrew has been Queen Elizabeth’s “tower of strength” over the past few weeks. The royals have not confirmed the reports, but it is widely known that Andrew is one of Queen Elizabeth’s favorites.
Given their recent public outing together, it would not be a huge surprise if the reports about Andrew supporting his mother are true. After all, why else would she risk stirring up more headlines by appearing with Andrew in public?
Inside Prince Andrew’s scandal
Last year, once of Epstein’s victims, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, claimed that she had sex with Andrew on three separate occasions. She even offered photos of her and Andrew as proof that they were together.
Andrew has denied the allegations, though there is no denying that he was an associate of Epstein. In order to clear his name, Andrew took part in an interview a few months ago and said that he regrets befriending Epstein.
Epstein, of course, killed himself while awaiting sex trafficking charges last year. Andrew has since withdrawn from his royal duties and has not participated in any royal engagements for months.
Queen Elizabeth has not commented on the reports surrounding her relationship with Andrew. She has, however, released several statements in light of Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down.
Queen Elizabeth shows poise amid the drama
A few weeks ago, Harry and Meghan shocked the world by announcing their plan to quit the royal family. Taking to social media, the couple revealed that they want to become financially independent and set up a second home in North America.
Queen Elizabeth has since released two statements on the matter. After meeting extensively with Harry, Prince Charles, and Prince William, Queen Elizabeth revealed that the Sussexes will be moving to Canada for part of the year.
She also confirmed that Harry and Meghan are giving up their royal titles and will no longer receive public funds. They are expected to give the crown $3 million for paying for the renovations of Frogmore Cottage.
Harry and Meghan will be keeping their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Harry will also retain his spot in line to the throne. He is currently sixth in line following Charles, William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Throughout all the drama, Queen Elizabeth has kept remarkably composed and has shown little sign of stress. Between Andrew’s scandal and Megxit, we can only hope things will get easier for Queen Elizabeth in 2020.
