Will Jennifer Pierce be okay after ‘Black Lightning’ season 3 episode 9?

In Black Lightning season 3 episode 9, Jennifer Pierce dealt with a lot, especially for a teenage girl. She met two parallel universe versions of herself. One of these versions was good and known as Gen, while the other was bad and known as Jinn. Gen was locked up by the A.S.A. for putting something in the water in Freeland that got rid of metahuman powers.

Gen later watched as Agent Odell killed her father, unable to do anything to stop him. Jinn, however, worked with Odell. She helped him defeat the Markovian people, killed many people, and ended up fighting with her family and killing them too. Jennifer had trouble dealing with these two other versions of her, especially Jinn who she fought with.

However, that’s not all. At the end of the episode, Jennifer turns into a bunch of floating balls of light. So will she be alright? We certainly hope so.

It could go either way, however. She could be in big trouble after this episode. She could be severely impacted by this change or could even die. However, she also might be alright, if affected by what she has seen in the other versions of Earth.

Only time will tell.

Will Agent Odell and the A.S.A. get taken down?

The resistance to the A.S.A’s occupation suffered a setback in Black Lightning season 3 episode 9. In season 3 episode 8, they tried to send the truth of what is going on in Freeland outside of the town. Unfortunately, the A.S.A. managed to intercept it first and therefore were able to control the message that got out. Yet later on in the episode, the resistance struck back at the A.S.A.

Chief Henderson called Anissa and Jefferson Pierce, asking them for help. Though they were busy dealing with Jennifer, Jefferson agreed to help and suited up as Black Lightning. He then took out the A.S.A. headquarters, which caused Agent Odell to send Green Light out to everyone who he has in his custody. Odell seemed to want to use the people as weapons to fight against anyone who opposed him or the A.S.A.

Though the resistance suffered setbacks, Anissa and Jefferson had a plan to combat them. When Henderson needed help, Black Lightning saved the day. Later on, Gambi was able to figure out where the truck Odell sent with Green Light in it was and Anissa said she had a plan to stop it. The audience didn’t get to see that plan or when or if Anissa carried it out.

However, the resistance against the A.S.A. seemed, in Black Lightning season 3 episode 9, to be resilient, not the type of people to give up easily. Does this mean they will succeed and the A.S.A’s occupation of Freeland will end? It could definitely go either way. Agent Odell does seem the type of person to be one step ahead of everyone, but Jefferson, Anissa, and those helping them all seem to be pretty stubborn and dedicated to their cause.

Only time will tell which way things will go in Freeland.

Hopefully, these questions will be answered in future episodes. It would be interesting to see what happens to Jennifer and if the A.S.A. will be taken down after Black Lightning season 3 episode 9.
