‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Candiace Dillard Claims Monique Samuels Lied About Assault
Former close friends Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels had a falling out during Real Housewives of Potomac Season 4 and haven’t repaired their issues since.
Things turned physical during taping for Season 5 when the two allegedly got into an altercation, resulting in second-degree charges against both women.
The ladies have been going back and forth on social media, and Samuels recently opted out of the scheduled cast trip to Portugal. Additionally, the controversy allegedly has made the mother-of-three want to quit the franchise, but sources claim production begged Samuels to stay on the show.
The drama continues as Dillard accused the mother-of-three of lying about “whooping her a**” in the fight.
Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels allegedly got into a fight during ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ taping
According to sources, housewives Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels got into a physical altercation at a winery during filming for Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 on October 16.
Allegedly, Dillard threw a drink, and the glass, in Samuels’ face, resulting in the mother-of-three grabbing Dillard’s hair and slamming her head on the table. While police were called to the scene, no one was arrested.
However, a few weeks later, Dillard filed a complaint with the court, who issued a summons for Samuels to appear in court on second-degree assault charges.
Candiace Dillard and Monique Samuels filed lawsuits against each other
Dillard’s attorney, James L. Walker, stated, “The physical assault, humiliation, and emotional distress have all been very painful and difficult for Candiace, as it would be for anyone attacked so viciously.” He also called his client a “victim” and said Samuels’ “behavior has no place in our society.”
A week after Samuels received the summons, she and her legal team filed a counter criminal summons. Her attorney, A. Scott Bolden claimed Samuels “was assaulted by someone known for her aggressive, threatening, and belligerent conduct” and acted in self-defense. He’s also “confident” that the footage revealed during Season 5 will show the truth.
Samuels’ court date is December 23, 2019, and Dillard will appear on February 6, 2020.
Candiace Dillard claims Monique Samuels lied about ‘RHOP’ altercation
After the altercation and lawsuits, Dillard and Samuels have thrown shade to each other several times on social media. For example, Dillard posted a lengthy caption accusing Samuels of blocking her singing appearance at a basketball game. However, the mother-of-three denied the accusations and claimed she’s too busy to worry about the pageant beauty.
Additionally, an Instagram user asked Dillard, “How many times do we have to hear how she whooped your a**?” She responded, “As many times as she needs to hear it to make herself feel better about her lies.”
Dillard’s answer confused people because she initially filed the complaint against Samuels, and her attorney claimed the mother-of-three attacked the pageant beauty “viciously.” Therefore, if Dillard’s Instagram comment is true, then she lied about the alleged altercation first.
Real Housewives of Potomac Season 5 premieres on Bravo at 9 p.m. EST in Spring 2020.
