Reasons You Should Watch ‘Black Lightning’ Before Season 3 Starts

Black Lightning season 3 is fast approaching. Before the superhero show starts up again, however, some may be wondering why they should watch the show. It’s a fair question. The superhero market is crowded and if you’re going to invest your time in a show, you want it to be good.

Don’t worry, Black Lightning does not disappoint. From the acting to the writing to the music, the show is almost perfect. No human creation can be perfect, of course, but this show comes pretty close. Are you ready to find out why?

Let’s get into why the show is so close to perfect. It’s because everything just comes together to make it work. From the writing, to the acting, to the music, everything fits into the show seamlessly. The writers know how to write a superhero story that still feels realistic.

And that’s a hard balance to have. The actors portray their characters wonderfully, each one feeling unique but yet so grounded in reality. The music fits the general feeling of the show and helps fans to get into the show every week.

What does the realism of ‘Black Lightning’ lead to?

One of the reasons for the success of Black Lightning is its realistic nature. As is mentioned before, the show is very grounded in reality, especially for a superhero show. And what’s at the heart of that realism? Jefferson Pierce and his family.

Though Jefferson and his daughters are superheroes, the problems they face are all too real. They — and Lynn Stewart, Jefferson’s ex-wife — also feel like a real family to the audience with all of the problems and joys that that brings. The Pierce family is always there for each other and that is one of the reasons the show is so good.

What can you expect from ‘Black Lightning’ season 3?

Besides a nearly perfect show, a lot of realism, and one family at the center of it all, what will season 3 of Black Lightning bring us? More metahumans, perhaps? Jennifer growing into her powers more and more, possibly? More cute moments between Anissa and her love interest Grace Choi, maybe?

Most likely, you can expect all of the above as well as dealing with corrupt government officials and interference from a dangerous foreign power, Markovia. It will be interesting to see how the show handles these storylines, especially given its realism. Probably, the show will continue to have a nice balance between realism and more fantastical elements.

So, are you planning on watching Black Lightning now? If the answer is yes, then make sure to watch seasons 1 and 2 before season 3 premieres on October 7th!
