Reese Witherspoon Wants in on ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4

It looks like Stranger Things the Netflix phenomenon that has taken fans by storm — has also caught the eye of an A-lister, specifically one still riding the dramatic waves left over from the epic Big Little Lies’ series finale. It’s a proven fact that the whole fanbase forgot to breathe for the entire length of the court scene. How we’re all still alive is anyone’s guess; yet, we tangent.

Stranger Things, featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard, and more in an 80s-inspired nostalgiac sci-fi thriller — with kids on bicycles and the whole shtick — has captured fans’ hearts and minds, presenting a familiar vibe with an original story. And it looks like Reese Witherspoon must feel the same way.

As you know, with Emmys buzz surrounding the entertainment industry — and more stars and quality scripts choosing the small screen over the silver one — some of Hollywood’s brightest are vying for the prestigious award. Reese Witherspoon recently posted a throwback picture on Twitter, with a caption insinuating that she would like to join the show. Witherspoon stated:

Hey #strangerthings… are y’all hiring for a fourth season?! So much love for these kiddos and their show. Can you guess who I’m rooting for this weekend? #TBT #Emmys

While Reese Witherspoon may be joking about her decision to join Stranger Things, having an A-lister with her star power join the ranks of the show would guarantee continued viewership. Reese Witherspoon loves the show like the rest of us, so who’s to say she wouldn’t jump on board?

Does Reese Witherspoon have time in her schedule to appear in ‘Stranger Things’ season 4?

Reese Witherspoon, running a production company and fighting diligently to develop more roles with powerful female leads at the center, is quite a busy actress, producer, entrepreneur, and so on.

Witherspoon will star in The Morning Show alongside Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carrell, in what continues to be Apple TV Plus’ main marketing tool; the show is currently in post-production and will premiere in 2019. Witherspoon is also starring in Little Fires Everywhere, which is currently filming and set to premiere in 2020. However, the list doesn’t end there.

Down the line, Reese Witherspoon is set to voice Rosita for Sing 2 and star in Legally Blonde 3. She is also set to take on the movie Tinkerbell and Wish List, both of which have only recently been announced. So, does Reese Witherspoon have time for Stranger Things?

The simple answer: no. The more complex answer: maybe we will get a cameo if she can squeeze it in between filming for her various other projects. Will the Stranger Things showrunners decide to see if she’s willing to put her money where her mouth is? They might as well try; what do they have to lose? Having Reese Witherspoon is better than not having Reese Witherspoon; she is Elle Woods! This is Elle Woods we’re talking about. Just maybe this innocent tweet will turn into a guest-star appearance.
