Revealed: What Meghan Markle Wrote About the Royal Family and Being a Princess Before She Met Harry
Before Meghan Markle met Prince Harry she had a few things to say about his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, and being a princess. While she wrote about the royals on her now-defunct blog, she could have never predicted that she would one day be joining their family but it is fascinating to read her perspective then given that she’s one of them now.
Here’s what the former actress wrote about her future in-laws a few years back.
What Markle wrote about royals and Kate Middleton
In 2014, Markle posted on her lifestyle blog about royalty and did an interview with exiled royal Princess Alia Al-Senussi.
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,” Markle wrote on The Tig.“For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here. Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate.”
Who knew that a few years after writing that post, Markle would be exchanging vows with Middleton’s brother-in-law during her own royal wedding and become one of the most talked-about women in the world herself.
Markle was starstruck by the princess
It’s also interesting to note that the now-Duchess of Sussex said she was
Of course, Markle is royalty today and just the opposite happens as people get starstruck talking to and seeing her so we can’t help but wonder if this post ever crosses her mind.
When she shut her blog down
Markle and Harry started dating in the summer of 2016 and by the spring of 2017, things were so serious with the prince that she shut down her blog.
“After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig,” Markle wrote in her final post. “What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun
She also put up another tribute to the site’s followers via Instagram.
“It is YOU who have made this Tig community so special. And even though I haven’t met most of you, for three years I’ve seen your faces and read your comments and hugged you from afar,” she posted before
Today though, Markle is back on social media as she and her husband share the official @sussexroyal account.
