Move Over, Reylo — John Boyega Laments Over Finn and Poe’s Bromance in a Love Letter to Oscar Isaac
There’s Leia and Han Solo. There’s Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker. Now, fans are wondering if there will be a romantic moment in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Will fans of #Reylo have their kiss in the rain moment? Will Poe and Finn finally confess their love for each other? Here’s the latest bromance emerging from the Star Wars universe, thanks to a video posted on John Boyega’s Instagram.
Will Rey and Kylo Ren fall in love during ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’?
A forbidden love between the leader of the First Order and a Jedi from the Resistance, forged together by a force bond? It doesn’t get more romantic than that. For some fans, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, might be the chance for Rey and Kylo Ren to confess their love for each other. Daisy Ridley herself commented on the relationship according to Cinema Blend.
“J.J. does deal with [it]. It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over,” Daisy Ridley said.
Finn and Poe are good friends during ‘The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Last Jedi’
Rey and Kylo Ren’s relationship isn’t the only pairing fans are rooting for. Some shared their love for Poe and Finn, two resistance fighters who met by chance while escaping the first order. The two briefly reunite during Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and, presumably, they’ll be together for The Rise of Skywalker.
Will Finn and Poe fall in love during the final movie of the sequel trilogy? As a joke, actor John Boyega shared a video on his Instagram, confessing his love for actor Oscar Isaac.
John Boyega jokingly posted a love letter to Oscar Isaac on his Instagram
The actors behind Finn and Poe have their own bromance outside of the Star Wars movies. In fact, John Boyega, the actor who portrays Finn, wrote a love letter to Oscar Isaac, the actor who portrays Poe.
“My dearest Oscar, I hope this letter finds you well. It’s been a fortnight since we last spoke and I must admit that I’ve missed you so,” Boyega writes in his Instagram video. “As I sit and reflect upon the adventures of Finn and Poe, I’m struck with anguish that John and Oscar have not been afforded the same caliber of companionship.”
Of course, other Star Wars fans joined in the joke. One Twitter user said, “John Boyega wrote an invitation to Oscar Isaac that would make Darcy weep with envy. Just thought you all should know.”
“Between this and
#reyandkylo, is the marketing strategy for [The] Rise of Skywalker to just lean into the ships as hard as possible before we actually find out who kisses who on Dec. 20,” wrote another Twitter user.
